We are a family that camps because it allows us to unplug while surrounded by nature and we can simply BE! Be with our family members, be with our dogs and just chill. It forces us to relax! And the dogs do too! My husband has his all time favorite, Dude, attached to him for the majority of the weekend. He tethered his lead to his belt loop and took him everywhere he went. Whether that be to the river for a bit of fishing, or to the grill to cook dinner or yes – to nap in the camper! Dude is the king of this house and can do no wrong in my husband’s...
Read MoreWe headed out to cool off with a dip in the ocean this afternoon and I thought I would take Dewey along for his first beach experience. Since is is my shadow, leaving him back at the campground would make things difficult – He whines when I am not within eye-shot. Needless to say, he didn’t find the waves of the Ocean as exciting as the kids did. In fact, he ran from them. But the sandy beach was a pleasant experience! He loved digging in the sand while the kids made their...
Read MoreNow this is a moment captured! Like I said before, we are leaving the new harness vests on the dogs for the entire trip to test their durability. 24/7 for 3 straight days will surly do the trick! Well, Blue is still letting her pups nurse from time to time and the pups have figured out how to get their fill even with the harness strap across her...
Read MoreOne of the bonuses of camping with our friends is the chance we get to see Cocoa and Foxy. When we were given the option to place Cocoa with her littermate Foxy, it was a true blessing! They love each other so much and their family adores them to pieces. Foxy went home with them when she was just a lil pup, but Cocoa was with us until she was close to a year old. So every time we camp, she starts to bark and jump when she sees us. She soooo remembers life in our...
Read MoreWhen it comes to camping with the dogs, it is all about exploring the campground and napping in the camper. When I take out the collars, they know we are about to head out on an adventure. That is when their excitement kicks into gear. This trip has an additional purpose. I am testing the durability of the new harness vests that I made as well as the new dog tags. I was a bit concerned over the intricate cuts in the cocktail glass shape but after a full 24 hours of use, there has not been a single issue. We slapped the harnesses on all of the dogs as we put them in the car to drive out here and won’t remove them until we get home. So far so good! Today has been...
