Another Target Find
While at Target today, I happened to notice on an end-cap that their square shaped melamine dishes were on sale. These little RE (Room Essentials) dipping bowls are the perfect size to feed Chihuahuas and at their sale price, I just had to pick up enough for our crew! I have shared in the past how our entire crew of Chihuahuas LOVE the Lobster dog toy we picked up from Target. We have a couple in the toy box and they always get singled out to be played with. I don’t know what it is about these toys but, now the puppies have discovered them and they are in constant play now! The rule of thumb for socializing puppies is that by the age of 7 weeks old, they should have eaten from seven different bowls, played with seven different toys, been held by seven different people, hear seven different types of sounds, walked on seven different surfaces… you get the picture, right? We work very hard on socializing our pups and depending on the time of year the litter is born, have the opportunity to expose them to the nasty weather we can have here in Florida. Ginny and Baby have seriously been the best of friends since the day they met. They look out for each other, nap and play together – Even share their found snacks! Watching them together is always entertaining and quite enlightening! I had the puppies in the kitchen this afternoon – The same room we keep our in-heat females in. Since Baby is still in the tail-end of her heat, she has been staying in there. Ginny has no need to be in the kitchen, except to be with her best doggy friend. This is when things get FUN! The pups are adventurous and playful. Their play sessions have increased and they each have shown us their individual personalities. Constant blurs of activity from these guys – LOVING puppyhood! Splash and Twist are on the more cautious side of the bunch, but sill very playful and adventurous. Zam is still the most confident and the first to try everything. He was the first to figure out the dogy steps up onto the couch! Diva is – hands down – the most playful and biggest people lover of them all. If she isn’t following you, she knows exactly where you are at all times. Your lap is her most favorite place of all....
