These Toys ROCK!
While on our breeding adventure yesterday, Cathy from Arf! Chihuahuas came along too. She had a very special package of treats and toys for our crew and I swear, the moment they saw them after I got home, you could see their ears ad eyes sparkle with delight. The treats brought them to an instant “sit” and are now the coveted rewards that I will not give out on a whim. And the toys? I dare not divvy the all up at once, I pulled out a couple of the braided ropes and within seconds, the games began. These toys can keep our crew entertained for hours. The next required step in our goal to produce our own, unique line, is introducing a new male into our program. Sommer so graciously agreed to let us give her amazing Flash a shot at Ginny and wouldn’t you know it, with in 10 minutes of meeting, Flash took take of business! He was a man on a mission and she was a woman wanting it bad! It didn’t matter that they met in a parking lot and consummated their new relationship in the back seat of my car with it being 115 degrees outside. (Yes, the A/C was a blasting in their private suite) Thank you so much Sommer for letting us use Flash – If all goes as planned, we should have one amazingly awesome litter...

The puppies are 11 weeks old today and each is just as playful as ever. Even though each puppy is unique in their looks and their personalities, they all love wrestling matches in our laps. It’s like home base! They start in your lap, run around the room gathering toys and other found trinkets and then back to the lap for kisses and lovin’s. This is totally a game they have learned from the other dogs i our house but it is one they seem to love over all...

While in the kitchen for the puppies’ play session today, Dewey did his best to fight his urges – Stay in my lap or play with his niece and nephews. He started out running the room with them, corralling the pups with nips to the legs and wrestling with them on the dog beds. Every minutes or so, he would run up to me, as though seeking my approval, and then back to the pups. A quick jump up onto my leg, a loving kiss and eye contact was given with each visit. The urge to be on my lap eventually was too strong. He positioned himself onto my lap, looking out at the pups andj umping down here and there when a puppy needed a lesson...

…and right on time! Ginny is our most consistent female when it comes to her heat cycle and she doesn’t get thrown into heat when the other girl’s cycles are in motion. She throws others, but on her own, she is on her own. We will be breeding her this go around and she will produce our one and only long coat litter of the year. Since she is the matriarch of the line we are producing, I have decided to expand it by introducing an outside male with this litter. More details to come in the next couple weeks, but if all goes as planned, we will have a stunning litter of puppies! I am SO...
