After the Fun Match yesterday, we planned on heading back to my house to unwind and then pack up. The goal was to have The Burrito head home to his birth mommy at 6 weeks of age. Since we are only two days shy of that goal, today was going to be the day! Ginny has been such a wonderful mommy and taken him him as her own. Even though she spent an entire weekend being tended to by Karen, when she peeked in last night, it produced a growl, as if Ginny knew her sixth baby was leaving her. I heard from Karen this morning and The Burrito’s first night away from a nursing female was a true success. The cuddled and played with Karen’s crew, without a single whine or...
Read MoreWe have so been looking forward to this weekend. The Tampa Bay Chihuahua Club’s Fun Match was scheduled for today! I knew we wouldn’t have a puppy to enter (ours are too young or too old) but I thought it would be a fabulous way to socialize Gater and get him geared up for the show ring. The weather was perfect and the company even better. It was so nice to be in a more laid-back environment whilst still witnessing conformation greatness. There were so many fabulous puppies as well as adults getting the way of the ring and table without the stress of a formal show. Of course, the crowd favorite was the costume contest. All were so adorable – So much...
Read MoreIt seems that since we have gotten home from our camping trip, I have been in a constant catchup mode, mostly because of technology. My cell phone had to go in for repair, leaving me with a loaner phone to contend with. Then my 6 year old MacBook’s touchpad and keyboard just stopped responding. So in addition to the daily tasks on my already busy scheduled was now hampered by no way to do my nighttime chills and update the blog nor a contact list or saved scheduled on my phone. Then, yesterday I made the decision to not pick up a new MacBook but to get an iPad instead, since I basically used it to update the blog and website and to edit photos. So add trying to...
Read MoreI have been having so much fun watching this litter grow. They are our final litter of puppies for the year – Actually, for quite a while – So I am watching them that much more to soak it all in. They have finally reached the fun stage of their development and I so love this part. After the 4 week mark, we really get to see their temperaments and of the five pups, Frenzy is the first to explore. Scnappster is the most laid-back and Quick is actually rather. He is the first to the food bowl at least! Tanq is very easy going while Maui Wowie is a combination of all – Confident, playful and independent....
Read MoreWith our little sweeties finally 8 weeks old, they finally got their first deep conditioning, fully foamed bath. Of the two, Gater was the calmest and seemed to truly enjoy all of the attention. Flirtini on the other hand was a tad bit more apprehensive to the water but realized quickly that the scrubbing felt really good! Both weighed in yesterday at the 1 and 1/2 pound mark. This of course means they both got their tiny size from their daddy Ace and I truly don’t see either ever making the 5 pound mark – More like 4 to 4 1/2...
