Like Father Like Son

In at least one way that is!

When you look at Frisco, he clearly takes after his mommy in the looks department – Except for that bite! That’s a first one for us!

As a breeder, it’s fun to watch the traits that are passed down to our puppies, even the quirky ones. Buddy has this habit of taking a single piece of dog food and patting it around on the floor. YES! He plays with is food.

Since both Ace and Rane are his puppies, it didn’t surprise us when they started doing the same thing. (I guarantee many of our forever families that have Buddy puppies that are reading this post are saying, “Our dog does that too!!!” Read on, because there is more!)

Many of his puppies also have his quirky “active dreaming” thing too. You can hear them mutter barks and kick their paws while deeply asleep. It’s as if they are chasing a dog in their dreams. I was hoping to see some of these unique traits pass down to a third generation. I have seen none thus far in Frisco. He appears to be more like his mommy in more than the looks department. That was until today.

Ace is always the first to seek out the sun spots in our living room for nap time. Today, his son beat him to the punch. Eventually, the two cuddled up together and shared the sunshine after the storm. That’s his boy!
