Blue has reached her fertile-myrtle day and she has the boys actually howling to get to her! We are not breeding her this season so she has had no access to any males. We can hear the boy’s pain - They loose weight, are much more anxious and whine every chance they get when we have a girl in heat in the house. But when Blue was in the kitchen with the pups and we began to hear HER whining, I had to take a peek at what all of the commotion was about.
Once she figured out that little, 6 week old Gater is a BOY, she nudged him with her nose and propped her behind out for him to have his way with her. She don’t care WHERE she gets it from – She just WANTS IT!
The giggles didn’t stop there though. After she tried to entice him (with no results of course) she laid down on the doggy bed to take a nap. The smells a female dog in heat emits are easily detected by any dog within a 2 mile radius. They are also easily detected by a 6 week old male puppy laying next to a female in heat. He crawled up ONTO HER BACK and started to hump her! I swear – I almost lost it!
