With Pryia now a member of the Figgy crew, we get to expand our world of dog shows as we entered our very first Herding Specialty. Last weekend was the Toy Specialty that we have always entered so today we spent the day with herding breed dogs at the Sunshine State Herding Group Association show

Alexis was asked to handle an acquaintance’s dog, Magic. She’s a 4 year old that suffers from a bit “mommy-itis”. I was very impressed with she handled Magic’s anxiety – The two earned 2nd place! She also got to work all day with Renee! Seeing what it takes to be a full-fledged professional handler was priceless! Early rise and closing the place down was definitely in the cards. Nonstop action truly made the day go by fast!

While Renee showed Pryia in breed, Pryia and Alexis got to make their AKC debut during the Junior Showmanship completion. They didn’t separate the kids by age and class, just by class. Their fabulous display in the ring earned them a 2nd place in their class. They then went on to an Reserve Best Junior! A great way to experience our first Herding Specialty!
