With Dixie being the last puppy here, she has jumped right into the pack and joined in on the fun. We took down the puppy pen and play area since she is now spending all of her time with the family. What an amazing day today for our 8 week old sweeties! They both had their first experience out in the grass in our backyard. With thunderbooms in the distance all day this week, I wanted to get this event checked off of the list as a pleasant experience. I was running out of time since Ebony was going home today! So before the storms started we took them out. Dixie LOVED it! She ran around and rolled in the dirt, taking in the tastes and smells. We headed out to see Dr. Mario today to get the puppies’ vaccines and Health Certificates and to complete my Health Testings (patellas and hearts). They all – pups and adults – were given a perfect bill of health! We also brought CC to see if Doc could help me find the perfect home for her. The pups have been spending a lot more time out of the pen and playing with us and the others dogs. With Mimosa being just over a month older, she is their main playmate – or should I say- play TOY. They constantly seek her out. CC has also become fascinated with the little ones, often times joining in their play. As I watch the girls play, I can see clearly that Dixie is the pistol of the bunch while Ebony is more of the easy going one that takes it all in stride. Not only was today exciting for Dixie and her new forever family but for me as well. Brady (aka Addington) was coming for a visit. I SO love the chance to see our puppies once they are older. It is a priceless opportunity that I cherish so much. And since he was Blue’s first puppy, it made today’s visit even more special!
