Today was Diva’s turn to warm hearts and bond with her new forever family! Wendy fell in love with Diva’s sweet face in her photos but had her mom come check her out in person, confirming she was everything she thought and then some! Living across the country didn’t stop her ability to see for herself – Thank goodness for Skype! It was like they were in our living room fr the visit! I really need to start using Skype more for our waiting list families, that is for sure! Needless to say, Diva (aka, some new name) will be making her way to Arizona to warm Wendy and her family’s hearts in person in the next few weeks but in the meantime, her...
Read MoreI haven’t done a photo shoot of Frisco and Diva for quite a while and since we have had a lot of inquiries on them recently, I thought it best to share more current formal photos. The blog has shown their growth and progress in a more informal way. Here they are in all of there formal splendor. I even added their photos to the pages with their current weights!
Read MoreBlue is – Hands Down – Our most addicted to peeking outside dog. I have many a photo of her in our back patio, gazing out into the yard. She jumps up onto the table to get to the ledge or lays on the back of a chair and would prefer to stay there for hours. Sniffing for squirrels or anything else she can catch in the wind. It appears as though Frisco has learned the skill from his mom and he turned around and taught Diva! These two have mastered jumping up onto our patio furniture and using it has a stair system to get to the ledge to peek out. Today it was to watch my kids outside playing. They wanted out back so bad! Tails a wagging, they begged with all...
Read MoreFrisco and Diva have done so fantastic with their crate training, I just had to take a moment to brag. They spend a lot of time out and about in the house, playing with our dogs, but we have not brought them upstairs to go to bed at night, realizing their new forever families may not wish to allow them in their own beds. (I know, it’s a major dog training no-no but we can’t help but spoil our Chis!!!!) Anywho, at night, we put the pups in the playpen with the dog crate door open, still giving them access to their food and pee-pad. Diva is just so tiny! I feel better knowing she still has access to food during the night. They have gotten used to this schedule...
Read MoreOur two remaining puppies are in the tweenage stage and with them being here until the age of 15 weeks, I have had an opportunity to really watch and assess their growth and maturity. It has been a wonderful gift as a breeder, giving me a chance to see how they develop past the 12 week mark. This is what I always refer to as “the puppy uglies”. Frisco has grown bigger than we originally anticipated, making him the perfect family pet. I estimate his adult weight to be closer to the 6lb mark. He is sturdy and very square – A stop to die for! He so looks like his mommy Blue, but his slight under bite has now given him character – His own unique...
Read MoreWith the hustle and bustle of family life during the weekends, nap time for the puppies comes in much shorter sessions. They are tweenagers in the human sense and they want out! They want to play! They want to be with us peeps! So the sounds emitted from our home on Saturdays and Sundays are in fact a mixture of laughin’ kids, rockin’ music and yelpin’ puppies!
Read MoreToday is the day for Splashy to go home with his new forever mommy, Carly! A day everyone has been waiting excitedly for. Watching him grow from afar and a few hour long visits were bitter sweet. She enjoyed every second with him but the day to finally bring him home was the biggy and by the look of her face on this photo, I think it tells it all! Splash has the bestest new mommy in the world and will be spoiled...
Read MoreAnd Uncle he truly is! Well, half uncle? Ace and Dewey have the same mommy, Ginny. And he has taken on the roll of watching after his niece and nephews with pride and precision. He seems to keep an eye on all three of them as they scatter to play in the kitchen. As he played with one, his head would turn periodically to watch the others. He played and played and played. I think that the fact that two of the puppies are almost double his size and double his energy level, he tired quicker than when he plays with Ace or any of the other adults in our crew. He was ZONKED – But still with an eye on the...
Read MoreOur sweet little guests have truly bonded with our current puppies and they too have found playtime in the kitchen to be their favorite time of the day. Wrestling and rough-housin’ is the flavor of the day and all six of them have had huge portions that is for sure! In between each session, one of them would run out to the back porch, grab a leaf and bring it back into the kitchen. By the end of the session, the doggy beds were disheveled and shredded Oak leaves were everywhere! That’s life with...
