Hotel KZ Perks

Our Hotel KZ guests are back home and our happy campers are cuddling with our spoiled spa princesses. Why you may ask that I described the girls that stayed at Karen’s this way?Because of THIS! Karen said Blue sat patiently for an entire pedicure. That included clipping and filing of the nails and then a coat or two of hot pink polish! How adorable is that?!?!? And while Blue shows off her purty paws off to everyone, I get to wash loads of camping as well as puppy litter laundry. It’s a good thing I don’t get pampered like that – my nails couldn’t withstand the work I have ahead of...

Wonderful Way To Wake Up

The lack of cell service up here at Rodman Campground has made emails come in at a trickles pace. The email Karen sent last night didn’t full download until this morning, but boy was it worth the wait! She sent a sampling of photos that she has been snapping during their stay, and clearly, they are having a blast at the KZ Bed and Breakfast! And the fact that she did a little photo-shoot too? BONUS!!! Enjoy the photos as I did. To get the full effect, of course you will need a cup of coffee, camping chair and the breeze of the canal. Either way, they are...

Their First Car Ride

Their First Car Ride

My daughter and I packed up the puppies, Chicatoo, Ginny and Blue to head over to Karen’s for their extended stay and as I drove, I realized this is Ginny’s puppies very first car ride! Gator did fabulous on his first ride so he knew exactly what to do. Jump out of the carrier and right into my daughter’s lap. The younger ones were a bit hesitant but about half way there, they too crawled out and joined the others. I did do one major faux pas during the drive. My daughter was in the backseat with the dogs while I was of course, in the front. The temps were in the 80′s so it was a bit warm in the car. I ran the AC to keep things cool for the ride...

The Burrito and His Mom

The Burrito and His Mom

I headed out to Karen’s today to help her get some new photos of her krew. I had a blast playing with all of her dogs and seeing how much they have grown. Many I haven’t seen in person since they were pups! Everyone is growing up quite nicely, into little tweenagers. Since I was there, I suggested getting some current photos of The Burrito. Then she suggested a mother and son shot too. He was from Chica’s very last litter – a monumental moment to capture. Oh, and a sweet one too of...

The Burrito’s Going Home

The Burrito’s Going Home

After the Fun Match yesterday, we planned on heading back to my house to unwind and then pack up. The goal was to have The Burrito head home to his birth mommy at 6 weeks of age. Since we are only two days shy of that goal, today was going to be the day! Ginny has been such a wonderful mommy and taken him him as her own. Even though she spent an entire weekend being tended to by Karen, when she peeked in last night, it produced a growl, as if Ginny knew her sixth baby was leaving her. I heard from Karen this morning and The Burrito’s first night away from a nursing female was a true success. The cuddled and played with Karen’s crew, without a single whine or...

They Were Busy

They Were Busy

While we were off enjoying life at the beach this weekend, Karen had her hands full, keeping the girls and all of the pups occupied. Based on the pictures that she snapped during her stay, I would definitely say it looked like everyone had fun! Humans and dogs alike! The Burrito got his first taste of gooey, gooshy, mushy, puppy food. The leftovers from Flirtini and Gater were put over with Ginny to finish. The Burrito’s sniffer sniffed that smell out and to the plate he ran! Yummmm-eeeee Karen also did a bit of conformation training with Gater to get him into gear for the show ring. Starting with stacking and a wee bit of Pupperoni, a stacking’ he did do!...

Big Day Today!

Big Day Today!

We have a lot going on today and a lot to share! First, we moved Ginny and the six puppies downstairs in a pen setup next to Colada’s and her pups. It didn’t take long for our 3 weekers to waddle out of the crate and over to the pee-pad to potty! YAHOOO!!! First steps to Puppy Kindergarten mastered! That is a fabulous sign! And as I watched them all cuddle up in a huddle for their afternoon nap, I headed back to packing. Our first Fall camping trip of the year is finally here and we are a couple hours away from pulling out. With so many puppies in tow, we thought it best to ask our dear friend Karen if she could dog sit for us. Eight puppies and one in heat...

Another 8 Day Difference Documented

Ginny’s puppies are 3 weeks old today and she is still nursing and tending to The Burrito. I had to make some whelping box adjustments to help The Burrito along with his development and newly mastered skill of walking out to the edge to potty. I happened to notice that Frenzy has followed suit but the others have yet to get that active. I placed a pee-pad on the edge like I have in the past but honestly, with such a large litter, I see this leaving not so much room for Ginny to nurse comfortably. I TOTALLY see this not working for very long, but for the time being, The Burrito can potty...

Updates on The Burrito

It’s been a while since I shared how The Burrito is doing with an actual photo of his adorable Burritoness! He is 4 weeks old today so I thought I would share his formal photo and that he officially has me not only giggling, but also in a quandary. He is way, way WAY more active than his adopted litter-mates. Ginny’s pups are just now starting to waddle walk and not even sitting up yet! He is walking -  No wait – RUNNING – around the whelping box and a smart cookie to boot! If the blankets are positioned just right, he uses them to bring himself closer to the edge of the pool so that he can climb out to see us. Oh – And bark at us too. He...
