So Cute!

We are all riled up for the Tampa Bay Chihuahua Club Speciality next month. Conformation training aside – I have another project in the works being made specially for the event. At each event the club holds, we also have an auction, with all proceeds going to the club. They have so many great Chihuahua themed items as well as dogs supplies a plenty to bid on. Vicky and I are going in on a very special item for the Speciality – a crate fully loaded with supplies and one of my handmade crate covers, complete with the bumper-pad and pillow. I have had my eye out for a unisex fabric that screams fun. Today I found it! Tell me this does not SCREAM...

51st Speciality Show

Quik is two months and a lush coat shy of being ready for the show today. Then of course there is Sugar. Sandy and I didn’t get our act together in time for her to make her debut in the ring, but perfect time to get her into the social side. The plan was to bring her to the show for the socialization – Strange hands and voices and smells and sounds. That and of course, to check out all of the other wonderful Chihuahuas being shown at the first Speciality of the year and to vote for new officers! This years’s winter Speciality was at the Sun & Fun property in Lakeland – a very interesting experience since the event was held in a hangar right...

Memorable Meeting

Tonight I headed out to Davenport for the January meeting for the Tampa Bay Chihuahua Club. So many new and exciting things are slated for the upcoming year – For the club and for my program actually! This will be my first official year stepping foot into the show ring with my line, thanks to the support and help from some of the wonderful members of the club. The anxiety I have was subsided even further after talking to some of the legends of this breed who stopped by our meeting. Robert DeJonge of Tiny Mites and Darwin Delaney of Dartan Chihuahuas are in town for the biggest Florida show of the year – The Florida Classic Cluster in Brooksville. If you want...

50th TBCC Specialty

A long, fun, eventful and totally memorable day today! We headed out to the Tampa Bay Chihuahua Club 50th Specialty dog show and since it was so close, we were able to spend the entire day there – Start to Finish! TOTALLY AWESOME! We got to catch up with our other dog friends, check out their newest additions and get the latest on the conformation world. Today was beyond filling and my head is a whirling. Ideas a plenty! And inspiration to get back into the ring with our sweet Ace. I see a lot of dog shows in our...

West Volusia Kennel Club Dog Show

Karen and I headed out to Deland to attend the dog show and of course, root for friends and fellow breeders. I realize the entire weekend was filled with a plethora of different breeds but the Chihuahuas were our main attraction. With 27 entries, there were a lot to see and ogle over. Of course, we had our favs and became the cheer squad. It’s not necessarily appropriate to make your opinions loudly known, but a “hoot-hoot” from time to time was tolerable. For me personally, I took in all of the confirmation steps, watching for techniques and tips. Stacking Ace has been my weakest and I learned a few things to help us both! I really hope to get Ace in...
