They all have a bit of their parents personalities – Two of our most energetic and social dogs in the house! Their babies got that for sure – Some more than others. Can you figure out how from these pictures? I believe it is our last week to get a group shot of them that’s for sure!

Today, Breezy, Tina, and Oops came along for the ride. Each came for their own special session with Doc. Oops came for his final set of puppy vaccines – He is going home next week! Perfect bill of health and sweet as ever to everyone in the office!

Breezy and Tino both required a bit more attention for their individual treatments – Like blood-work, a tad bit of shaving a bare spot and then sedation…

Breezy is finally getting her extremely long nails taken care of. It requires her to be sedated and the nails to be cut and then cauterized. She was the perfect patient and everything went perfectly!  I am sure things will be much more comfortable for her now, specifically when she runs. This is one of the main reasons she has struggled in the show ring. The mat and concrete surfaces of the show sites are just too difficult for her with such long nails. They look beautiful now!!!

And Tino has some retained puppy teeth. This is actually quite typical for this line – The canines on the top and bottom always seem to take their own sweet time or they simply get stuck. He was such a trooper getting a total of 8 puppy teeth pulled but at the same time a typical male. After they drew blood, the girls wrapped his leg with tape. Pretty typical stuff right? Well, you would think they had cut it off and then seen it back on the way he was holding it up. Then it took him three times as long as Breezy to come to. He milked it the entire time! Such a boy!!

And now that we have reached the 2 week milestone I can also share that I have really struggled with how I am going to name this litter. I was leaning towards naming them after their father, using “naughty” and/or “charming” but honesty, there are not name cocktails out there with that theme. Following mom, “Barbie” is a tad too girly with so many boys in the litter. That’s when it hit me! The Rio Summer Olympics! Ohh yeah! I found some VERY cool cocktails – Be on the  lookout for their name announcements!

The puppies have all sustained their birthweight and have their plump bellies. All except the last puppy – the black and tan girl  – were normal presentations at birth and you can already start to see their heads reshape. It will be interesting to see how they develop along with who is a smooth coat and who is a long. We do have the opportunity for both varieties with this breeding so perhaps we need to start placing bets again?

Today’s lessons were given over FaceTime and I must say, were exceptionally telling, teach Alexis and I about the infamous pantaloons and how to clean them up. I have always struggled with getting them “just right”. I already hacked up KC’s of the last show so I used the techniques to clean up what was left but now I definitely know how to make them just right after hers grows back.

You see, they make up our most precious family to date! Ginny and Teddy’s litter produced my first show puppy, KC. It was Ginny’s last litter and Teddy’s first for us. So to see all three of them laying together, it pulled at my heart strings and then made my heart smile.

It was when I look down that I realized the position she was in gave a really clear picture of that bite. Yeowzers! She looks just like Fievel from An American Tail!

I am not sure where this temperament comes from because neither her mother or father are this playful and energetic – I can only assume it is a grandparent. Where ever she got it I hope she passes it onto her future puppies – and NOT her eye staining! Ouch!
