They Are 1 Week Old

You have been able to seen their backs, tops of heads  and wonderful markings – How about a face shot??? In addition to weights and nail clippings Capri’s litter got their one week photo session today and I am here to report, they are all doing fabo! They have each gained an ideal amount of weight and are growing nicely. The two big boys (the merles) are still the leaders in the pack, apparently taking after their mommy in size. The other three are more small framed, like their daddy Ace. I have also noticed that both girls have their mommy’s diluted tan points, which you can see in their newest photos. We are stilling watching this litter to assess...

Markings and Spots

It’s been a while since we have had a litter with spots or unique markings. The infamous “body shot” seems ridiculous with a solid colored dog. Now this is a jam-packed with glitz and glam litter of puppies – Look at all those markings!!!  Each with theirs, individually unique. Alabazam The biggest boy in the bunch and he has the biggest flash. His rather symmetric Irish marking eye patches and stunning scattered merle markings make him stand out. Oh yeah, and his much larger size than the rest of his siblings! Black Haus Twist Our smallest boy and the only one without merle markings. The thing that makes him unique is his very distinct red-fawn...

They Are Finally All Here!

They Are Finally All Here!

And with an amazing story to boot! As the sign says, the severity of the emergency takes precedence. That is just what happened in our case, creating a 2 hour wait for surgery prep to begin. In the mean time, her first two boys were able to get their bellies nice and full. Capri was on the anxious side and chewing at her IV. When they let me in the room to take the boys back and of course, say my words of encouragement to her, the cone they placed on her made me chuckle. Poor thing!!! The wait may have been long but once they started, things happened quickly. They gave us a play-by-play, updating us as if we were the soon-to-be proud papas in the waiting room! At 3:53...

Too Slow and Steady For My Liking

With the next sack appearing after 2 and a half hours of pushing and then nothing more after we passed the 4 hours of pushing mark, the after hours emergency vet is where we packed up to visit. Blue was still in stage one and not pushing. She was left in good hands with my husband. Off to Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Casselberry we went! We checked in and then settled in for a long night. There were a few other animal patients checked in with more serious conditions. Capri got bumped up once she started to be a bit stressed. The pushing was now much more consistent and she clearly was uncomfortable in her new environment. With a bit of feathering and examination by...

And Still We Wait

And Still We Wait

Capri is STILL resting and not pushing for over 2 and a half hours. No distress in sight, she is simply loving on her boys and being the bestest mommy ever! beyond attentive, she is going do awesome. About an hour ago she began pushing and again, she is going slow and easy. As the boys nurse, she started calmly pushing at 7:00 from her laying position. At this 4 hour per set of pups rate, it appears as though this is going to one of those 24 hour litter...
