The remainder of the weekend is the Toy Dog Club of Central Florida’s show and you guessed it! Huggie, Sugar and I are signed up for both days.
It was a very early morning here, having to be at the International Palms Resort at 7:30 am for the smooth coats that were judges at 8:30. Unlike yesterday’s ALL day event, today the long coats enter the ring at 10:35, leaving us all afternoon to relax and recoup for tomorrow.
With all smiles and tails a waggin’, we made it for day two and even more lessons learned! Huggie did so much better, even for being active at the hour of the day he is normally waking up. He walked great – except still no tail up. I was calmer, but we need to work on building his confidence. Another 2nd place but another proudly earned ribbon with the lesson being – Get here even earlier tomorrow and help him get more comfortable with There were a LOT more people and dogs here today and this sure was intimidating for the dogs. Do you blame them? I know I surly don’t. I think we need to do some visit’s to PetCo with Huggie on the lead. That should boost him up! that and of course, the fact that his littermate sister Bendi got 2nd place too! Congrats Vicky!
Sugar and I had a few “moments” of anxiety before her second day in the ring too. I could see she was also intimidated by all of the extra feet – Human and Canine alike – and after a few warm up walks up and down the hallways, out the to ring we went. Only a slight tug delay mid-ring, and she walked beautifully. Another 2nd place – Still proud and still learning. Tomorrow is our last day and I have decided, it’s going to be all about having fun. Let’s go out with a bang!
As a side note – I must apologize for the blurry photos of the weekend. My daughter is still trying to figure out my iPhone – I am just so thrilled the moments were captured!
