I took my kids up to Chicago to visit family for the a long weekend adventure and my husband stayed home with all of the dogs. It was the first time in a LONG time I was away from home without the dogs. It felt kinda weird actually.

On our first day exploring the city, I couldn’t help but notice just how dog friendly Chicago is. It was a Saturday and everyone was out and about with their dogs. At the parks, at restaurants, on sidewalks – In parking garages! Then I began to see all of the dog specific sings plastered everywhere! Oh my word! Way too cool!

Interestingly enough, there where a lot more large breed dogs than small or toy breeds. I found that odd since the majority of dogs living in the city are in condos and apartments. I know my Chihuahuas don’t need a lot of space for exercise but couldn’t imagine burning energy on such large dogs. Of course, I don’t know a smooth coat Chihuahua that could happily deal with the cold winters in the north, but long cots could do it, I am sure! Either way, I got a lot of doggy love in over the weekend, my dogs or not. It was a great experience all the way around!
