With such a short drive from our house, we just had to attend the West Volusia Kennel Club show in Deland this weekend. The number of registered entries was rather low (only four males in smooth coats) but the fact that it is more practice for the Hugster and I is worth the entry fees. Of course, when we arrived to find that only two of those registered four were actually there, I knew our record for reserve was potentially in the bag! When going up against professional handler, the odds of an amateur taking it all is slim!
We proudly took our First Place for our class and Reserve for Winners Dog. Our record is still intact, hoping tomorrow will at the very least, bring the same. Of course, a point would be very, very nice!
For today’s event, we brought Ginny along for her first ever! She is not showing, she was there for one of the health clinics they held at the event. We have our dog’s hearts, patellas and eyes certified through the CHIC program. I brought both Huggie and Ginny for the eye clinic held today and they both passed, doing awesome!
