While on the subject of our sweet Breezy, I should share that she is hands-down, the sweetest step-mommy to our Chihuahuas! So maternal and so gentle with even the tiniest of Chihuahuas, she will bend down and play with them for hours!

She will very gently paw them, getting down onto their level to make it easier for them play with and ON her! Even the adult join in from time to time! Not that we ever have any plans to breed, I can tell you that she would make an amazing mother!

The Storm Cuddle

This summer has been exceptionally filled with afternoon thunder storms – We have seen quite a few severe storms this year! Our summer dogs (those born in the summer/spring months) are handling it fine. It’s the winter dogs that are having a pretty hard time. Breezy, Dude, Cosmo, and Blue are the worst! They can sense the storms off in the distance and alert us to their approach sometimes an hour before they arrive! Cowering in blankets or on the back of the couch, whining and whimpering, with some of them following our every step as if we can stop the madness! Poor things! Cosmo is on high alert this afternoon while Dewey is simply taking advantage and using his body heat!

Now I have to say that our newest litter of puppies are lucky to have been born this summer! They will be accustom to the thunder booms- You’re welcome future Figgy Chihuahua Puppy Families!

Too Cute Not To Capture

I just had to snap photos of this adorable puppy pileup! LOOK AT THEM!!! This is such a laid-back litter of puppies. Seriously, very chill! I can pick them up, lay them on their backs in the palm of my hands and just love on them for hours. I cannot tell you how many times I have had them suckling on my nose or fingers. They are all just so sweet. I cannot wait to see if they stay that way – Mom and dad’s temperaments are some of my favs – I hope some have Milly’s!!!

She’s Been My Project

I have taken it upon myself to make Style my little project while she stays here. Socializing her to different sights, sounds, smells, people, places and well, everything! I must admit I feel I have been successful. Her confidence has grown leaps and bounds but she has also become quite attached. Like, “be in my lap all the time” attached.

She will be going home next week so I wanted to be sure to document these sweet memories. I truly love the way she lays up on my chest while I work on the computer. Sometimes I swear I can hear her purring!

So Good To Me

So I went out on the town last night and for the first time in forever, I wasn’t wearing my Converse All- Stars or flip flops – I wore my big girls shoes! Heeled boots with open toes. And it wasn’t one of those “in and out of the restaurant” nights. We hit bars and clubs and danced! Sooooo, I woke this morning to actual open cuts on my toes, They really hurt too!

Clearly the girls sensed the boo-boos because they will not leave them alone. Bandaids or not, they want to clean and lick and tend to my cuts. It’s very sweet but also very ticklish and in some ways dangerous. I am going to trip over them!!

Door Stops

So with both Miilly and KC being in heat right now, Style and Stella have opted to stay with the fertil-myrtle’s in the living room, instead of with the horney boys in the kitchen. I suppose I don’t blame them! Oddly enough, they have become more needly and attention seeking though. I am not sure why but their antics are annoyingly adorable.

They are both running in front of me while I am walking and rolling over for belly rubs. I mean like, “I could trip over you like THAT” run and stop in front of me. I will tell you it has made be become much more aware of where I am stepping but still – it’s adorable and equally odd.

Rather Instant

Ms. Style pretty much made herself at home almost instantly. She has found the living room to be her preferred space to take over and likes to spend her time in the sun with Milly, Stella or Breezy. They are pretty inseparable. She adores me – anyone else, not so much! But she’s warming up to the rest of the family! She will be here for a while so she best get a move on! She doesn’t realize the men in this house always have to best food and love to sneak snacks to the Chihuahuas! She’ll figure it out!

Came Home With Company

In addition to one of the most amazing specialty trophy baskets ever, I came home with both Stella as well as another female named Style. She will be staying here for a bit and clearly the two are the best of friends back at Darius’.

For Stella, it was as if she never left. She picked right up from where she left off, wanting my undivided attention, especially when I am working at my desk! She’s just too adorable to ignore so you just know I had to pick her up and let her sit in my lap!!! I missed you sweet girl – Very Much!

Such A Ladies Man

Tino has received a lot of socialization over the last several months. Between attending multiple dog shows and being passed around to strangers, he has become a lot more confidence in this big wide world. Unlike Georgie who takes his time to get to know strangers, Tino has started to kiss strangers upon meeting them. I will take the over a fearful Chihuahua any day!

We have a family member visiting us this week and Tino has truly taken a liking to her. Of course he marked Javonna the moment you walk in door, and has been following her everywhere since. He tilts that adorable head of his, wags is that lush tail and melts her heart every time she walks into the room. I swear he’s such a ladies man!

Poor Cosmo

We had a last minutes St Patty’s Day gathering here at the house and I suppose we got a tad loud – OK, we were playing poker and it got rambunctious – and Mr. Cosmo, who pees himself when it merely rains, suddenly was nowhere to be found. During my search for the biggest baby on the planet, I happened upon him in the laundry room. Putting himself into a crate is a rather standard affair around here. He loves his crate so I keep the doors open all of the time. Tonight I found him in the upper crate! I don’t know if his “partner in fearing anything that moves,”, Dude was previously occupying the lower crate but clearly Cosmo was troubled enough to jump up twice his height and make himself at home!
