Cosmo Took Breezy’s Spot

The window seat is clearly now the most coveted spot in the house! Breezy made it her own the moment she became part of our family. She has her own blanket that she nests with and that is where she brings all of her toys to hide from the others. It provides the best views in the house for a canine – All the wildlife outside and into the kitchen form the family room.

Apparently. Cosmo has figured this all out and now makes the BACK of the chair his new spot! Smart boy!

Sun Spot

It happens every winter here – granted a Florida winter but still. They find the sun spot and covet it. Warmth is their THANG and when they find it they will stay in it for as long as they can. Sometimes I worry that they will bake them selves and overheat. So far it’s never happened but still!

Today they found Breezy’s bed and all piled into a sun-seeking huddle. Too adorable not to capture!

The Storm Cuddle

This summer has been exceptionally filled with afternoon thunder storms – We have seen quite a few severe storms this year! Our summer dogs (those born in the summer/spring months) are handling it fine. It’s the winter dogs that are having a pretty hard time. Breezy, Dude, Cosmo, and Blue are the worst! They can sense the storms off in the distance and alert us to their approach sometimes an hour before they arrive! Cowering in blankets or on the back of the couch, whining and whimpering, with some of them following our every step as if we can stop the madness! Poor things! Cosmo is on high alert this afternoon while Dewey is simply taking advantage and using his body heat!

Now I have to say that our newest litter of puppies are lucky to have been born this summer! They will be accustom to the thunder booms- You’re welcome future Figgy Chihuahua Puppy Families!

Poor Cosmo

We had a last minutes St Patty’s Day gathering here at the house and I suppose we got a tad loud – OK, we were playing poker and it got rambunctious – and Mr. Cosmo, who pees himself when it merely rains, suddenly was nowhere to be found. During my search for the biggest baby on the planet, I happened upon him in the laundry room. Putting himself into a crate is a rather standard affair around here. He loves his crate so I keep the doors open all of the time. Tonight I found him in the upper crate! I don’t know if his “partner in fearing anything that moves,”, Dude was previously occupying the lower crate but clearly Cosmo was troubled enough to jump up twice his height and make himself at home!

Big Bowl Buddies

With big dogs in the house we have added bigger bowls to the mix. Come to find out Breeze is one of the dogs in the house that leaves kibble behind. Our skinny dogs – Georgie, Dewey and Olive – have another skinny-minney to add to the club. Dude and Cosmo cue in on the club members because they want to eat their leftovers. Normally they are batting over the little dogs bowls – Big dog bowls can be shared!

And So They Wait

Every time I head out to take Alexis to or pick he up from work, these three amigos have to be placed into the front family room. If they aren’t in the front room they have special little Chihuahua meltdowns. This usually includes howling, a lot of jumping up and down and banging into the doggy gates. Our “Special” ones have tad bit of anxiety from over spoilage. So in the front room, cuddled up on the couch and able to see when we I all back into the driveway. Problem solved!

The Cozzie Kick

Since he was a pup, Cosmo has been a back-leg potty kicker. You know, when a dog kicks out os rear legs after proudly marking some item? Because of Cosmo’s size, the amount of dirt and debris he kicks up is quite large – Like as much as Boomer the Pug! Anyone or anything within 5 feet of Cosmo’s rear is going to get covered – You have all been warned!

We’re Home

And clearly we were missed!

Alexis and I always loose a few hours of sleep when we travel for dog shows but this weekend it was quite a bit. Like a night’s worth. So when I walked in on a very fast asleep Alexis with a bunch of dogs napping on her I knew we were ALL happy to be back home.

The Cleaner

Mr Toddy has become quite the special little dude. When it comes to the perfect forever family coming forward to make him there’s I am convinced that it’s needs to be a home with another dog. Why you ask? He is a cleaner! A suer sweet and caring cleaner. If there are doggy ears around them, they are his responsibility to keep healthy and shiny.

Today, Cosmo was his target and a very willing participant he was. Toddy sat their cleaning both ears with love and patience – So sweet!

Allergies

Our sweet Kiki has been scratching at her eyes over the past few days, so much so that she is missing of hair! Poor baby! And Cosmo – the house lover-boy – has honed in on her boo-boos. He licks her eyes with tender loving care and kindness.

We have started giving her some Benadryl and almost instantly saw the redness and scratching cease. YAHOO! Gotta love Benadryl!
