The post Sun Spot first appeared on Figgy's Chihuahuas AKC Show Breeder/Handler in Florida.]]> It happens every winter here – granted a Florida winter but still. They find the sun spot and covet it. Warmth is their THANG and when they find it they will stay in it for as long as they can. Sometimes I worry that they will bake them selves and overheat. So far it’s never happened but still!

Today they found Breezy’s bed and all piled into a sun-seeking huddle. Too adorable not to capture!

Finding the perfect home for a tiny is never easy which is why they normally stay here with us.  I can tell you that the two will NEVER leave! They are my heart dogs!

Dewey lives for me – I think he would actually die if I did! And KC is the first puppy is fell head over heels for the moment she was born. She was from the first “I am going to show chihuahuas” litter and she didn’t fail me or my dream. Her son Tino will be my first Champion Bred-By!

The post The Storm Cuddle first appeared on Figgy's Chihuahuas AKC Show Breeder/Handler in Florida.]]> This summer has been exceptionally filled with afternoon thunder storms – We have seen quite a few severe storms this year! Our summer dogs (those born in the summer/spring months) are handling it fine. It’s the winter dogs that are having a pretty hard time. Breezy, Dude, Cosmo, and Blue are the worst! They can sense the storms off in the distance and alert us to their approach sometimes an hour before they arrive! Cowering in blankets or on the back of the couch, whining and whimpering, with some of them following our every step as if we can stop the madness! Poor things! Cosmo is on high alert this afternoon while Dewey is simply taking advantage and using his body heat!

Now I have to say that our newest litter of puppies are lucky to have been born this summer! They will be accustom to the thunder booms- You’re welcome future Figgy Chihuahua Puppy Families!

We have two – Dewey and Olive. For me, taking responsibility for bringing something that tiny into this world is the only way to go! Keeping them safe and happy for however long God decides them to grace this Earth is a must. My two tinies own my heart and always will and their happy lives will always be my main priority!!

I don’t know what it is about them but our Chihuahuas have the tendency to cram into them as many as possible to create cuddle balls of fluff. Today’s entertainment was provided by Ginny along with her son Dewey daughter KC and granddaughter Olive!

Dewey didn’t complain one bit. Of  course the dog has negative body fat so I am sure any chance for heat is welcome to our little man. He truly enjoyed laying in front of the fire to toast while I stripped my clothes off.

You see, Dewey is our alpha and he rules the roost. If he likes you, it’s all good. Alexis and I are leaving tomorrow for our much anticipated trip to St Louis for the Chihuahua Nationals. To see that Dew and Breeze are a point of sharing the newest and bestest bed in the house I am at peace leaving for our trip  – All is right in the Figgy world!!!

The post Old Man Dewey first appeared on Figgy's Chihuahuas AKC Show Breeder/Handler in Florida.]]> It seems like only yesterday that Dewey was a tiny little puppy that could fit into the palm of my hand.  He is till any enough to sit in the palm of my hand but in August, he is going to be 8 years old! That’s just crazy! And this special, special boy is aging quite gracefully I must say. Sure, his teeth – the few he has left – age him,  but he keeps up with the high energy youngins’, not slowing down one iota.

The only thing that I have noticed just recently is that his light, self-colored pigment has darkened and his ticking spots have increased on his legs and head. Like me and my age spots I suppose. I wish my greys would darken gracefully!! Guess I am not so lucky!
