Bathing Beauty

Today I got to give Olive her final luxurious bath in the Figgy bathtub. I love this dog more than anything and I’m so happy Gail has agreed to bring her home with her. Keeping Olive safe and happy all that matters to me! And knowing I will still get to see her makes it all that much better to deal with.

Please keep them both in your thoughts and prayers that everything goes as planned. I couldn’t ask for a better person take care of her!

So Good To Me

So I went out on the town last night and for the first time in forever, I wasn’t wearing my Converse All- Stars or flip flops – I wore my big girls shoes! Heeled boots with open toes. And it wasn’t one of those “in and out of the restaurant” nights. We hit bars and clubs and danced! Sooooo, I woke this morning to actual open cuts on my toes, They really hurt too!

Clearly the girls sensed the boo-boos because they will not leave them alone. Bandaids or not, they want to clean and lick and tend to my cuts. It’s very sweet but also very ticklish and in some ways dangerous. I am going to trip over them!!

It’s Perfect!

Our sweet Olive has become rather overwhelmed in our home with so much activity. She has become quirky the older that she gets and finding her a quiet home with only one other dog to share a lap with is harder than you might think. It also had to be a home of a family friend because we love Olive to pieces and want to see of often. She just needs a calmer place to call her own and Gail is the prefect fit! She has loved Olive since she was born and when she heard about what we are looking for she knew she could very well be that perfect fit! We are going to give it a go and see how she does. Barbie didn’t adjust well to a quiet home – I guess she loves our chaos? Either way, we need to see how Olive adjusts. I hope it is as perfect as I image it will be!!!

Our Tinies

If you have been breeding and showing dogs for as long as I have, I can tell you, there is a special, tiny Chihuahua in your home. We have two – Dewey and Olive. For me, taking responsibility for bringing something that tiny into this world is the only way to go! Keeping them safe and happy for however long God decides them to grace this Earth is a must. My two tinies own my heart and always will and their happy lives will always be my main priority!!

Cuddle Balls

Back when I bought these organizers to use as dog beds never did I realize they would bring such adorable entertainment to me and my family. I don’t know what it is about them but our Chihuahuas have the tendency to cram into them as many as possible to create cuddle balls of fluff. Today’s entertainment was provided by Ginny along with her son Dewey daughter KC and granddaughter Olive!

What A Wonderful Visit

Tiny wasn’t the only one who truly enjoyed the girls staying with the last couple of days. It was so amazing to have the chance to see them again and watch their growth Them are maturing into two very sweet Chihuahuas – loved and adored by a wonderful family! They are welcome ANY TIME!!!!

Too Cute Not To Capture

There is a process in our house when it comes to feeding the crew. Different dogs eat different foods in different room and in different ways. It doesn’t take long for them to figure out THEIR unique things and it’s funny to watch them wait for their individual serving, once they hear the bowls come out.

Dewey runs to the laundry room- Georgie waits outside the bathroom. Barbie, Dude, Blue, Ginny and Cosmo wait in the dog room and KC and Olive wait in the kitchen. As timing goes, the bowls in the kitchen get out done last and it is just so cute to watch the girls wait their turn, patiently and comfortably.

Hole To Nowhere

A few times a year, the dogs take on a backyard project of digging a hole – always in the same location – I don’t know if they are looking for something or perhaps trying to stay cool? What ever it is they were seriously on the job this afternoon.

Adorably Awkward

Olive is a year and a half old and every single day of her life brings joy and amazement to to our lives. They always say that dogs adapt no matter what disability they have. Olive has the weakest rear end ever and has spent the last year and half working those rear leg muscles to get up and around.

She has managed to build the strength to get up and down steps and even wrestle with the other dogs – including Boomer! It’s running that makes me smile to witness. She is so adorably awkward with her movements but also apparently proud of her accomplishment.

Wouldn’t You Know It!

Olive was not only spayed but had five puppy teeth pulled out of her month. I held her as she cm to and was quite loopy for he entire ride home. Georgie on the other hand had four puppy teeth pulled. We talked about what to expect before the drive home. Olive may not be back to herself for a couple of days while Georgie should be back to bouncing off the walls before we get home.

NOPE! Olive walked out of the crate and right over to back door wanting to go out. She even begged to eat at dinner time. George jumped right up onto the couch and wouldn’t move. He moaned and buried himself in the blankets to sleep right through dinner.

Olive is one tough chick!!!!
