The post New Year – NEW PUPPY! first appeared on Figgy's Chihuahuas AKC Show Breeder/Handler in Florida.]]> I have always wanted a puppy from Kara and today, my dream came true! I met up with Sommer to pickup our latest and greatest addition to the Figgy Crew this afternoon and I can tell you, pictures did NOT do this pup justice!

I have been watching her grow from afar since she was born, and with fingers crossed, I hoped all I had seen in the photos were true. At 8 weeks of age, now is the best time to do the evaluation. Her bite is dead one, top line and tail set perfect, dome and stop ideal and temperament to die for! All that in a pup is a great start to bringing smooth coats back into our program! Thank you so much Sommer! I AM IN HEAVEN!!!

We got home and my husband was immediately greeted with tail wags and kisses. He asked if he could finally name a puppy because he had the perfect name for this sweetie – Smoochie!

Smoochie???? Well – with all that he puts up with, I had to eventually agree to his request, compromising that it be her call name. Her drink name will come soon!

The post Getting My Mentoring On first appeared on Figgy's Chihuahuas AKC Show Breeder/Handler in Florida.]]> Today is a day that I have been looking forward to for months – Sommer, with ChiWOW has a much anticipated litter on the ground and they turned 8 weeks old – The ideal age to do their evaluation! I have been trying to get Sommer into the dog show ring for quite a while now and with some mentoring, that is my goal for 2013! She has some beautiful dogs and really should get them out there and shown!

In addition to the young pups, she brought her show hopefuls for an evaluation as well, and boy are they some nice ones! I have challenged her to work on lead and table training, until our next meet-up. I hope to have her entered in her first show before the end of the year! I think she is going to do awesome!
