We have decide to send him back up north to finish his title so that his humans can be a part of the final major!!! SO excited to have shown this little guy and share him with everyone down here!

The post And So The Fun Begins first appeared on Figgy's Chihuahuas AKC Show Breeder/Handler in Florida.]]> Miss Tipsy rocked it the first time around the ring – I was so proud!!! She had no completion but she still made it around the ring and that is a huge accomplishment! And of course she has soaking up the attention from all of her human fans. She’s going too be a handful on the road – for me and for others!!!

Georgie and Duper came along for socialization and support! I thought life on the road would a bit easier to handle with his new bestest buddy Georgie. Duper took to it almost instantly – I don’t think we are going to have a problem there at all.

And with all of the show accomplishment excitement aside, we also had the local news doing interviews in the grooming area where Darius and Dolly were able to make cameos in the segment. Gonna have to keep an eye out for it on News 13!

The post Nell Is Our Favorite first appeared on Figgy's Chihuahuas AKC Show Breeder/Handler in Florida.]]> We have a few dogs staying with us this week, all of the Chihuahua persuasion, with most eventually spending more time with us here in the future. They are all females who may eventually whelp and then raise their puppies here with me. That is at least the plan. Was really nice to bond with each of them and allow them to bond with our dogs as well as become comfortable in our home. I can tell you now though that Nell was, hands-down, the family favorite. She is such an easy going girl that will love and attach to any individual. She is going to be a lot of fun with her puppies I can see that for sure. I cannot wait for her to come back for more Figgy fun!

The post A Pit Stop first appeared on Figgy's Chihuahuas AKC Show Breeder/Handler in Florida.]]> I unpacked Tino, Style and I and then CRASHED!! I really didn’t realize how tired I was. The dogs enjoyed the break for sure! Since I had spent the drive last night listening to the news about the Eclipse today. I wasn’t too sure what the traffic would be like so I planned on taking advantage and actually sleep in. Tiny and Style had no complaints and thoroughly enjoyed the play session this morning. I didn’t pack up and take off until noon! Man was that awesome!!!

The post OMG Too Cute! first appeared on Figgy's Chihuahuas AKC Show Breeder/Handler in Florida.]]> So I stuck around the shop today when I drove Alexis to work because a puppy playdate and 8 week evaluation was planned for Tina’s litter of Cavaliers. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought a breed of puppies could be as cute as Chihuahuas. Look at these babies!!!!

It really was a lot of fun getting to play with the pups. It was unanimous – The black and tan girl with the purple collar and ruby boy were the picks of litter – Honestly, the girl was my favorite pick of them all! And lesson learned …. NO lifting of the tails on Cavaliers!

The post He’s Perfect! first appeared on Figgy's Chihuahuas AKC Show Breeder/Handler in Florida.]]> Our search for the perfect Juniors Chihuahua has finally come to it’s end. As they say, all good things are worth the wait and Mr. Harold is that and so much more!

I have to say I am in awe of how the dog show community banded together to help another – especially a Junior! Jen, you are so amazing for sharing Harry with us this year so Alexis can truly compete. As I have stated so many times before, this is her final year in Juniors and she really hopes to go out wth a bang. A flashy dog is what she needs to do that and Harry is the perfect Chihuahua to help her reach that goal at our Specialties. He has already started to bond with her and on their first practice session today, he was spot on!

It looks like we will bring him along this weekend and if it is as hit as they are predicting, we will switch her Junior dog from Boomer to Harry. I do think Harry with fair well in the heat if their ring is outdoors.

The post The Future of the Club first appeared on Figgy's Chihuahuas AKC Show Breeder/Handler in Florida.]]> With a week’s full of perfect Florida weather, today was the only day in the forecast filled with any storms. The same day as our club’s B Match. Go figure!

The rescheduling of our match went without issue (We bumped it to June 5th) so onto a puppy socialization session following our monthly meeting made the drive out to Lakeland behind worth while.

Many of us brought pups to participate in the match and Pat Pitorre brought her sweet as ever, That A Baby (Yes that’s his name). Feasting on pizza and watching the kids – the potential future of our club – play with and socialize the puppies was our afternoon – Perfect!

The post Picked Right Up first appeared on Figgy's Chihuahuas AKC Show Breeder/Handler in Florida.]]> Eddie picked right up where he left off from when he lived here, loving life on the couch, in the pack and running the yard. We have also been conditioning him for life in the ring again to see if he will work as Alexis’ Juniors dog. So far he is a bit too soft with a tail almost wrapped under his belly the moment the lead is slipped on. We are working daily with refresher lead training. In the mean time, he sure is a sweetie pie!

Thank you Rita for this amazing opportunity!A wonderful line breeding that will hopefully provide perfect blend of structure, movement, temperament and pigment. I have imagined this breeding since she was 6 months old and now that the time has come, I am beside myself with excitement to see what arrives in May. Fingers crossed that the breeding takes and that my calculations are correct!
