I can tell you there’s a LOT more coat maintenance than I am used to! Sweet and playful and adorably fun, they also require a lot of brushing and dematting! ARGH!!!!! It’s all good thought – they deserve the best and are so patient with hair pulling – I mean the one-on-one attention! Also, I love the fact that I get to socialize my Tino and Georgie to other breeds! Nothing like this two barking their heads off as other breeds walk past them at the shows!!

Chanel just wanted to play something fierce while Mistress sat and watched peacefully. It was so sweet to watch Olive be drawn more to Mistress than anything else in the room – as if she knew her gentle soul needed a hug. So sweet!

It is pretty common knowledge that Chihuahuas prefer fellow Chihuahuas. When we are at dog shows, being around a plethora of different breeds is the norm. We do like to keep our little dogs away from the big dogs but those interaction do happen. 

Jen brought her amazing Great Dane named Marty for Alexis to work with to learn some skills on handling large breed dogs. It was when he gently inspired play following Beamer’s curiosity and showed patience with 2 pound Olive that made me realize that with was an amazing opportunity to expose them to a considerably larger dog in a very positive way. Beamer was so awesome and playful with Marty while Olive was unfazed by the presence of such an exceptionally large dog.

Along with Sugar (who looks beyond happy and healthy!!!) came Lando and Dutch. They too helped with the socialization of puppies – all SEVEN of them – as well as Tipsy! Beamer joined in the fun because, well, that’s just what he does! And I would have to say ALL had a blast! Can’t wait to do it again!

The much anticipated and fully planned day has finally arrived. I left the house with Bella and Smoochie is tow but and heading home with them as well as our newest addition and two sweet girls for some socialization.

It all started with me sharing the amazing skills of Alexis and Hope in the lead-breaking department. They are both very patient and diligent when training young pups, so much so that Smoochie and Spike were walking in a matter of hours. The master plan was derived quickly – The girls can help train and socialize other’s pups! So on the trip home from Vicky’s came Kara and Raina for the girls to work with.

Our newest addition Beamer was also bundled up for the ride and I cannot tell you how excited we have been about his arrival! He is out of Eve and Thor, a Huggie brother. He is tiny like his mommy Eve and has the amazing temperament of his daddy Thor and markings of his uncle Huggie. The PERFECT combination!

All of the pups – young and old – did fabulous together while we humans caught up and visited for the afternoon. I can see they will all do splendidly at our house too!

Besides his bestest play buddy, Spike, he has taken quite the liking to the younger puppies, making them his afternoon entertainment and the couch is now his “doggy bed”. He loves to watch The Dog Whisperer with my daughter in the evenings and seems to enjoy Monday Night Football too. Basically, he has made himself at home and is quite settled. Sorry Shelly – We have spoiled him during his stay!

Lionel will be staying with us for a bit, while Shelly is out of town and the welcoming committee was at attention when he got here. The photo is crappy but it captured the adorableness of our crew realizing they had a new playmate in da house!

It didn’t take long for him to make himself at home and introduce himself to all of our dogs. He has taken a fond liking to Spike, who growled at first but soon warmed up to Lionel’s playfulness.
