Dream Come True

When I shared with Gladys the unique situation we have with Smoochie, it struck a cord with her and she immediately thought of her son and daughter-in-law. They have a male Chihuahua named Tyson that has similar traits They have been looking for a companion for him and Smoochie could very well be the perfect fit.

When Michael and Barbara came to see her I think my anxiety was more intense than Smoochie’s. They were so calm and … Instantly in love! They saw past her hesitations and envisioned an amazing future with her as part of the family – Not a doubt in the world but I still offered them a “trial period”. One they did ultimately need – She was going home!

Patience and love is what I said Smoochie needs to finally have that perfect forever family to live out the happy and healthy life she deserves. Thank you Gladys – Thank you Barbara and Michael – You made my dreams for Smoochie come true!

More Socialization Than Anything

The youngins’ needed their final set of puppy vaccines but I brought Georgie and Smoochie along for some extra socialization. SO many sights and smells give a perfect opportunity to expose Georgie to things he might also find at dog shows.

Now Smoochie came to meet her other son’s new forever mommy but to also also get held by more “strangers” – something she needs big time!

All in all it was another fabulous trip out to see Doc – and again, a perfect bill of health for all!

The Herd

The moment we let the door to the Iris pen open, the girls (Tipsy, Smoochie, Olive, Barbie and Milly) come running and the out dump the puppies. They all seem to converge in the middle of the living room and usually begin to follow any human that is moving. Like the Pied Pier, you can steer the herd of Chihuahuas where ever you wish. Eventually we plop down onto the floor and then let them begin to climb on us but they still do that as a herd too!

The Playing Doesn’t Stop

What did I tell you? The Smooch is a play machine! Today’s focus is on Georgie along with the falling apart, braided rope toy. Tug-o-war was the game of the day and loosing was not an option – for EITHER of them. To entertaining to not watch actually.

Kidd is a Momma’s Boy

When it is play time, the first thing Kidd does is make a bee line for his mommy, Smoochie and the rough housing begins. The two will go at it nonstop. Smoochie is one energetic girl which is a fabulous trait to have when you are the mommy to such energetic puppies!

The Smooch Rocks!

Smoochie is seriously one of the best mommies I have ever seen. She is so in-tune with both of her boys and remains young at heart. Every time they get let out of the pen, the boys immediately look for their mommy and she is definitely ready to play. And play hard they all do! Sometimes, they tire before she does!

And while play is a good thing, she is also doing her mommy training, teaching them the ways of the world and how to survive in an active family home. The steps up onto the couch was the first skill she taught them this week. Priceless!

She’s On Mommy Watch

Today was bath day for the boys and I have to say, it was adorable to watch Smoochie and her mommy mode kick into gear. If it wasn’t for the fact that she is just to narrow to pass puppies on her own (and never I wouldn’t have had her spayed because let me tell you she is hands-down, A ROCKIN’ MOM! Seriously! Awesome!

The boys are 10 weeks old and she still watches over them making sure they are safe – and being good boys! She herself is a pup at heart and watching her play with her sons is so special to watch a wonderful bond between a mom and her boys.

Meeting Their Daddy

Beamer bounced back from his surgery within days but I have kept him from playing with the puppies because e know just how much he loves to play with the younger ones. That much activity might not have been a good thing. He has been chomping a the bit though so today finally gave in – He was so excited!

He is so fabulous with young puppies and I just know that he knows these are his sons. He should be very proud – they are both so sweet and affectionate. Their tails never seem to stop wagging!

They Are Down Here

Just as I predicted, the boys have moved from the quite nursery to the everything but quiet living room, to begin the next stage of their socialization. Sights, sounds and smells will multiply daily, if not hourly. From this point forward, these two boys will be on the fast track for the lessons they will need for the rest of their lives – SO EXCITING!!

The boys transitioned almost instantly and snuggled right up with their mom in the new comfy doggy bed. That was a first for them for sure! And Smoochie LOVED the move! She has always been a couch lover, so be to so close to the couch – Close enough to still peek in on her boys – Pure Heaven!

Oh Yeah! I Was Right!

The boys are up and walking and very active! Weighing in at a pound – which is all puppy chub – they are three weeks old today and I guarantee they will be working that chub off in no time. Playful and animated, The Smooch is going to have her paws full with these two!
