8 Week Eval, CHECK!

8 weeks is the ideal age to evaluate puppies for their structure. It is said that what you see structurally at 8 weeks is what you will see when they are full grown adults. Sure, there can be deviations and changes, but it is the best time to see what the future might possibly hold. Of course, holding on to five puppies until they are full grown would be a bit hectic, so doing this evaluation is the best way to determine which will be staying here and which will be going to new forever families.

Shelly and Vicky stopped but to partake in the fun and it was a unanimous decision – After much consideration, we have narrowed down the litter to three that we will be continuing to watch grow and develop – Diva, Flirtini and Bella will be remaining here with us and I will be sure to share their progress!

Lionel Settled In

Size doesn’t matter when it comes to his diminutive size verse the rest in our pack. He sees himself as the end all be all dude of the house now that the only intact males are he and Teddy. He is totally loving life!

Besides his bestest play buddy, Spike, he has taken quite the liking to the younger puppies, making them his afternoon entertainment and the couch is now his “doggy bed”. He loves to watch The Dog Whisperer with my daughter in the evenings and seems to enjoy Monday Night Football too. Basically, he has made himself at home and is quite settled. Sorry Shelly – We have spoiled him during his stay!

New Guest

…at the Figgy Doggy Hotel that is.

Lionel will be staying with us for a bit, while Shelly is out of town and the welcoming committee was at attention when he got here. The photo is crappy but it captured the adorableness of our crew realizing they had a new playmate in da house!

It didn’t take long for him to make himself at home and introduce himself to all of our dogs. He has taken a fond liking to Spike, who growled at first but soon warmed up to Lionel’s playfulness.

More Conformation Class

Our second trip to the Conformation Classes at the Orlando Dog Training Club was last night and again, it was a true success! My daughter totally rocked it with Huggie and KC is doing MUCH better on the table. Her tail wagged all the way around the ring – I was so proud! Shelly brought her two new contenders – Paisley and Honey – For their first conformation class. They too did fabulous.

And can I publicly admit that I think Huggie does better with my daughter than he ever did with me? I will admit that I over think things and I am sure that trickles down the lead. With my daughter, his tail was up, head was up and chest was out – he looked FABULOUS!!!!

We Chihuahua peeps will be taking over the classes until the end of May – We all need to get in as much practice as possible before the Specialty!
