Ringin In The New Year

It’s a quiet night at the figgy house as we ring in the year 2018. It’s been amazing year of accomplishments personally as well as professionally but I’m excited to see what the new year brings.

The dogs on the other hand? They’re not too sure of this cold weather that’s for sure! So while we humans sip away on the champagne to celebrate, they cuddle up in blankets completely unaware of the fact that it is time to celebrate. It’s all good! As long as they’re happy and warm! And clearly they are!

Sun Spot

It happens every winter here – granted a Florida winter but still. They find the sun spot and covet it. Warmth is their THANG and when they find it they will stay in it for as long as they can. Sometimes I worry that they will bake them selves and overheat. So far it’s never happened but still!

Today they found Breezy’s bed and all piled into a sun-seeking huddle. Too adorable not to capture!

Do you think that Ooops is comfortable here? I swear, our house has so much activity that to find anything sleep this soundly is amazing. Sleeping so vulnerably too? He is one confident little dude – and clearly quite content too!

These Two

I don’t know what it is about Georgie and TIno but I have never seen two male Chihuahua get along any better than these two. They honestly are best friends! I genuinely feel guilty leaving Georgie at home when I take Tino to shows because you can see his little heart break he leaves. Once we get home is all laggy tails and barky barks!

Of course this could all change once we have the two of them together while we have females in season during the summer. Tino was too young to really understand what was going on last month. It sure would be nice if they remained the best of friends once they’re both fully grown. Keeping our fingers and toes crossed that’s for sure.

Cuddle Balls

Back when I bought these organizers to use as dog beds never did I realize they would bring such adorable entertainment to me and my family. I don’t know what it is about them but our Chihuahuas have the tendency to cram into them as many as possible to create cuddle balls of fluff. Today’s entertainment was provided by Ginny along with her son Dewey daughter KC and granddaughter Olive!

I Think They Approve

We have been in the market for a new sectional for over a year now. Finding the perfect furniture for our dog-filled lifestyle has not been an easy task. We did a two piece corduroy setup that was hands down, the most comfortable furniture ever! It dint clean so well though and we want something a bit more easy to maintain. Then came the module leather sectional. LOVED how easy to was to maneuver and clean. About 12 months in to owning it, the comfort and cushion was gone and downfall of modular framing became evident. Also, we fell hook, line and sinker for the cleaning product program they offered us when they sod us the set. I used it religiously on it. Unfortunately, about a year ago it began to peel and crack. Come to find out, water – ONLY WATER! Needless to say, wasn’t happy with the outcome and we have no plan return that that store again. Finding the perfect blend of clean-ablity and comfort was our goal – This piece with a vinyl covered bottom framing and plush fabric cushions was the perfect solution. While Alexis and I were freezing our butts off in Ocala at the dog show, this new setup was being delivered and set up. I was actually quite excited about getting home to see it in all of it’s comfy glory!

Once we did get home, I saw that it was the perfect choice for the entire Figgy clan. Not only did we pick out a new section with the comfort of our former two-piece set up, but I decided to lighten things up in the room a bit and picked out solid wood, white entertainment system. It looks better than I imagined and the comfort is beyond my dreams. Everyone found their individual spot and now that we are home, Alexis has proven it is perfect! She has claimed chair (along with Breezy) and shown that it beats the first setup in the sleep-abilty department. She was out light light!

Too Cute Not To Capture

There is a process in our house when it comes to feeding the crew. Different dogs eat different foods in different room and in different ways. It doesn’t take long for them to figure out THEIR unique things and it’s funny to watch them wait for their individual serving, once they hear the bowls come out.

Dewey runs to the laundry room- Georgie waits outside the bathroom. Barbie, Dude, Blue, Ginny and Cosmo wait in the dog room and KC and Olive wait in the kitchen. As timing goes, the bowls in the kitchen get out done last and it is just so cute to watch the girls wait their turn, patiently and comfortably.

Everyday It’s Something

At any point throughout the day you look into the pen with Barbie and her babies and you can find the pups in some of the most adorable sleeping positions. Of all the litters born here, this one has been the most creative. Be on the look out for more precious sleeping puppy pictures of the next few weeks!

Shoulder Buddy

I have been working on a large number of photos every evening this week and KC has decided to be my late-night couch buddy. She jumps up onto my chest to use it as a launch pad to get up onto my shoulder. It’s from there she settles in with a snuggle and an evening of snoring in my ear.

Couch Potatoes

If my husband is on the couch, you can guarantee that KC and Olive are right there with him. I mean always! And they are either on his lap or on his shoulder.

Unlike me, they don’t nudge him when he is snoring or groan when he moves. They just go with the the flow and soak in his warmth. So sweet – So Chihuahua!

So all of you fellow Chihuahua lovers I am sure you can relate to this and probably have your own photos of couch potatoes – Especially claiming a love one’s lap.
