I am now feeding the entire house NutriSource High Plains Select (grain free beef and trout) topped with Primal Raw Frozen Nuggets Lamb and Ziwi Peak Air-Dried Mackerel & Lamb. For Mr. Georgie he also gets 1/2 of a Stella & Chewy’s Frozen Surf N’ Turf Dinner Pattie. Usually RedBarn Beef Rolls do the trick – NOPE!  The raw diet has changed EVERYTHING! Seriously! It finally put weight on him like nothing else I have tried.

So I spent two months with the new diet and then WHAM! The girls go into season. Of course! So all that weight gain went bye-bye and back to skinny he went RIGHT before the show this weekend. Lovely!

Georgie showed like a champ but – being given a Select – but he is just too thin.Going through the motions this weekend to re-socialize him to the show ring. He has a good time, which is all that really matters. We will work on getting the weight back on him and maybe bring him back out at the end of Summer.

TIno did fine too. He never really shows himself on the first day of a show. Tomorrow he shod live his true confidence. We proudly took our Reserve today – Cant wait to come back tomorrow! We are finally at a local show (The Deland is only about 30 minutes up the road). I will get to sleep in tomorrow morning – YAHOO!!!

All of our dogs eat different combinations of the food we have. Some have extra stuff while others have basic kibble (they all get coconut oil) and they all eat in different locations so that they only eat THEIR food. Dewey is the slowest of all of our eaters and he has soft, gooey food. What ever is left over gets tossed onto the back deck for the rest to devour. Can you guess what’s going on based on the picture? I was just walked towards Dewey to let him out. YHEP! They want his leftovers!!!

Dewey runs to the laundry room- Georgie waits outside the bathroom. Barbie, Dude, Blue, Ginny and Cosmo wait in the dog room and KC and Olive wait in the kitchen. As timing goes, the bowls in the kitchen get out done last and it is just so cute to watch the  girls wait their turn, patiently and comfortably.

When Harry came to live with us he was a couch potato. To help him get into show gear, we reduced his food intake to 1/4 cup of kibble twice a day and exercise. Going up and down the steps as well as daily walks has helped shed the ounces but also tone him up for the ring. He looks GREAT!

I am now feeding our entire crew ACANA Pacifica Regional Formula Grain-Free Dry Dog Food, with our show dogs getting Primal Pork Formula Nuggets Freeze-Dried Dog Food. I ordered the food on Saturday and it arrived this morning! PERFECT! The only thing I can say that you need to be prepared for is just how heavy the boxes are – Yeouch!

We have moved our adults to Acana Pacifica and Stella & Chewey’s Beef patties. So far they love it and we can feed them less.

I spilt up a freeze-dried patty and split it between 6 dogs! We sprinkle the pieces on top of their kibble. Boomer, Tipsy and George get cut-up Red Barn beef in their bowl to help BEEF the up and they ALL get a their kibbled drizzled in coconut oil.

We haven’t had an empty bowl since the switch! And as you can see by our three special diet show dogs begging t0 get into the kitchen after hearing the dinner bell (the pile of doggy bowls being filled with kibble) they love the change!

Milly is a little piggy and will eat every ounce of food she can see so we have to monitor her. KC is a picker and she plays with her food too. The two are fed in the living room away from everyone else but that hasn’t slowed Milly down on trying to devour both of their bowls. They inspired us to put KC into a pen with her bowl so she can eat in peace.

Well after a week she has turned it into quite the event! She leisurely pecks at her food, rests between nibbles, licks a bit of water to wash it down and then goes back to pecking. She could be in the pen for up to an hour enjoying her princess time – enjoying every second!
