Everything got very staggered so our “possible” ring conflict turned into a most definite one and then some. I helped with showing one of the Toy Fox Terriers and then had to run to the Chihuahua ring so I didn’t get to see Alexis show in Pugs either. I was able to hear Alexis be asked to handle a Toy Manchester Terrier but couldn’t witness her do it either. I heard how amazing awesome she did though. Like there was ever a doubt?

I did get to see her rock it in the Cavalier King Charles ring. Her and Tabby did awesome and Alexis can’t wait to get to work more with her.  I also got to witness her rock it even more in the Junior ring. Her and Boomer did their thing for sure and ended this awesomely fun weekend in an awesomely AWESOME way. They earned a 2nd!!!!

Then following Chihuahuas was the Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. They had a very large entry, giving Alexis to spend time learning more about the bred. So much so that we joint the local breed club! She also got to help with Tabby, who did even better today!

Having a home base today allow us to spend time and get to know an amazing  Toy Manchester Terrier breeder named Tammy.  A true supporter of Juniors, she asked if Alexis could help her with socializing some of her younger ones. In between her rings times, Alexis took them around the building to get them accustom to the show’s sights and sounds.

Her final breed ring time was of course the Pugs with Boomer. Her competition had a ring conflict so she was alone this morning. We got the Owner-Hander points on the perfect day   – The day we plan on staying past Best in Show!

It’s also the same day that Juniors go in after Groups start. Not a first, but truly rare. And today she took Oz in for her Junior dog. Placement or not – they looked fabulous together. Tomorrow is another day!

A fabulous morning spent with fabulous friends. Rayna and Normandy’s visit was way to short but at our awesome dinner last night at Rudy Tuesdays, we discussed our Savannah trip for this year (it’s no longer the Thanksgiving weekend and has been moved to December). We also talked about the possibility of coming up to Myrtle Beach for a show this July. Any chance to see them is a a blast – If we don’t have puppies on the ground, I think we just may do both!

In Juniors, Alexis and Oz were left t do their own thing, with no guidance or suggestions. It felt like a “too many cooks in the kitchen” kinda thing with all of the tips being sent her way. Left to figure it out on her own was clearly the way to go because with another large class (9 this time) Alexis and Oz got 2nd place! And boy was it earned – they looked fabulous together! She never stopped working, kept his tail and attitude up and a smile on her face.

She was able to Groups today! No other family events today (The shower was wonderful by the way). And she got to join with friends! Oz was right in front of her and then Rita and Carla rounded out the group with the Chihuahuas. A great way to end a great weekend. No love for any of us from the judge but lots of claps, smiles and support from each other.

We had a little bit of a wait between Pugs and Chihuahuas this morning so we started to discuss and plan for tomorrow. With a 3pm ring time for Juniors tomorrow, we would hate for Debbie to have to stay so late with such a long drive home.  Since Alexis was going to show Oz today in Juniors, we thought we best get Harry ready just in case he has to go into the ring tomorrow. He has a ton of coat and using a pair of thin shears would be my assumed tool of use.  We learned how to groom Mr Harry with a stripping knife and boy was that a nice difference!

After Chihuahuas, Alexis had to RUN to the Juniors ring with Oz. She didn’t get a lot of time to practice with him but I have to say, for their first time in the ring together, they looked fabulous. They didn’t place but it was a very large group of 11 kids and they still need to find their groove. Admittedly, she leaned over top him a bit  so she wants to work on that next time.

We left right after Juniors so that we could go to a family friend’s baby shower. It was Alexis’ first time opting not to do Groups for another event. Event seen anyone so excited to go to her first baby shower. That’s me sweet girl!

After Pugs, Alexis was able to help with Papillons,  Yorkies, and Toy Fox Terriers! We also got to spend time with Debbie and get to know her Toy Fox Terriers. Oh my word, she’s amazing! She taught Alexis a ton of fabulous handling tips, grooming techniques and confidence building. It was an amazing afternoon! So much so that Alexis has been added to Oz’s paperwork so that she can show him in Juniors. Her first time showing him will be in Deland.

Alexis and Boomer didn’t place in Groups but she had a very large cheering sections consisting of spectators as well as Juniors and their families. I so love this community!!!
