The much anticipated and fully planned day has finally arrived. I left the house with Bella and Smoochie is tow but and heading home with them as well as our newest addition and two sweet girls for some socialization.

It all started with me sharing the amazing skills of Alexis and Hope in the lead-breaking department. They are both very patient and diligent when training young pups, so much so that Smoochie and Spike were walking in a matter of hours. The master plan was derived quickly – The girls can help train and socialize other’s pups! So on the trip home from Vicky’s came Kara and Raina for the girls to work with.

Our newest addition Beamer was also bundled up for the ride and I cannot tell you how excited we have been about his arrival! He is out of Eve and Thor, a Huggie brother. He is tiny like his mommy Eve and has the amazing temperament of his daddy Thor and markings of his uncle Huggie. The PERFECT combination!

All of the pups – young and old – did fabulous together while we humans caught up and visited for the afternoon. I can see they will all do splendidly at our house too!

It is said that what you see structurally at 8 weeks is what you will see when they are full grown adults. Sure, there can be deviations and changes, but it is the best time to see what the future might possibly hold. Of course, holding on to five puppies until they are full grown would be a bit hectic, so doing this evaluation is the best way to determine which will be staying here and which will be going to new forever families.

Shelly and Vicky stopped but to partake in the fun and it was a unanimous decision – After much consideration, we have narrowed down the litter to three that we will be continuing to watch grow and develop – Diva, Flirtini and Bella will be remaining here with us and I will be sure to share their progress!

The post Another Day Spent In Lady Lake first appeared on Figgy's Chihuahuas AKC Show Breeder/Handler in Florida.]]> With Spike reaching the 8 week mark, it was time to get his first set of vaccines! With the trip being a long one, I brought KC and Kiki along for some checkups – I wanted to get to the bottom of Kiki’s allergies and have KC’s patellas and hips checked now that we are seeing some oddities in her rear end. I am proud to announce that Spike not only had no reactions to his vaccines and handle it all like a champ, after an hour of howling during his first crate and car ride experience, he calmed down and has that mastered – Not even a single potty accident! We did scrapings on Kiki and all results were negative so now we have to narrow down what she is allergic too. It’s most likely a food or flea allergy.

And KC? We did x-rays to confirm but her patellas and hips are fine. It may be a puppy spurt and something she will grow out of. Of course we did discover that she had to poop and could potentially be going back into heat though. Looks like she will be getting some additional time to grow and develop so we can see if this is just a phase or not.

Since we were out in the area, we stopped by to visit with Vicky, making it my time to soak up some puppy breath and give belly kisses. Spike and I got to play with Eve and her sweet babies – OH MY GAWD ARE THEY ADORABLE! I was tickled pink to visit with Eve and Jessa – They both were equally excited to see me too! Boy are they a couple of very happy girls!
