While at Rita’s today (to do an AI with Tino and Mackenzie) I got to see the grown up Kisses and boy oh boy does she not look like the carbon copy of her mommy – with a better coat! Holy cow! I had to do a double take!

Duper Is Here!

My dear friend Marcy and I have been planning this day for a long time. She has a very special dog named Duper that we decided would come down here to Florida to get some showing experience under his belt. Also under my belt! He would give me an opportunity to show a stellar dog that is a true showman! I’ve never had that before and I’m very excited for the opportunity!

I will be showing him at the Brooksville circuit next month if all goes well and I cannot wait to learn from him while he soaks in the Florida sunshine. His coat is absolutely amazing! I wonder what the warmer weather’s going to do do it? I know that cold weather will grow a nice, thick coat. I think he has enough to share! I think my lessons are going to start in grooming that’s for sure!

Within minutes of him walking into the house he fit right in with Figgy crew like he been here forever! He’s going to do just fine.

Such A Ladies Man

Tino has received a lot of socialization over the last several months. Between attending multiple dog shows and being passed around to strangers, he has become a lot more confidence in this big wide world. Unlike Georgie who takes his time to get to know strangers, Tino has started to kiss strangers upon meeting them. I will take the over a fearful Chihuahua any day!

We have a family member visiting us this week and Tino has truly taken a liking to her. Of course he marked Javonna the moment you walk in door, and has been following her everywhere since. He tilts that adorable head of his, wags is that lush tail and melts her heart every time she walks into the room. I swear he’s such a ladies man!

My New Night Bud

Stella has come to find that night time in our house is rather quiet. Also that if you stay up late with me, you get my attention and my body/laptop heat! She has bonded very well with Alexis but now it is my time and staying with me at night is the way to do it. From chillin’ with me on the couch while I do my computer work to sleeping at the foot (or head in some cases) of my bed. She will be bounded to us all by the first of the year – if not sooner!

The National Has Begun

Day one of the 2017 National Specialty was kicked off this morning with the Smooth Coats. WOW! What an amazing amount of entries! 128 to be exact! Amazing numbers and so many amazing dogs! It was also another day for Alexis and I to hang with friends and actually watch the show! Juniors don’t show until tomorrow morning. First thing again, of course!

I am sad that we only have one more day of the show so we are soaking up as much time with the dogs and awesome friends as possible. We stayed close to the Holiday Inn all day, enjoying lunch at the Steak and Shake across the parking lot, allowing us to run back over to watch the rest of the Speciality. We also had club business to attend to this evening, bringing the evening to a close at the hotel restaurant – Oh yeah! Another steak dinner! – The Twisted Tree Steakhouse had the best steak of the trip, hands down. Also the most expensive. YIKERS! Looks like Mikki will be getting so top of the line steak as bait!

Following our club’s general membership meeting we got to go an pick up Stella for her first night with us. She’s a tad apprehensive but I see her bonding pretty quickly 🙂

Georgie is the Best!

This young whippersnapper has the best temperament we have ever produced in a male. He loves every human he meets and obviously every dog too. He has been roommates with two visiting dogs in the last month and he has bonded so awesomely with both without issue.

I found Georgie and Eddie napping together on the rug in the sun today. Too sweet to not take note and so lucky that have such an amazing dog in our crew.

Best of Buds

After spending the entire weekend together, Georgie and Nibbles have definitely become the bestest of friends. Now that we are home, they are penned together to help Nibbles to get acclimated. George is doing a great job – He is the host with the most!!!

Georgie Got His First Point!

The long drive and lack of sleep was worth every bit after finishing up in the breed ring with Georgie. Wow! What an amazing morning that starts with a major thank you to Judge Charlotte McGowan for recognizing that our sweet baby boy has potential, despite the fact that he has quite a bit more maturing to do. She gave him Winner’s Dog at the tender age of 8 month of age!

In addition to his very first point towards his Champion title, he also one Best Owner-Handler and Best Puppy! For the first time I got to wait around unit he end of the day to go back in for groups. And no, we have no photos. That;s because for the first time ever, I got to be in the ring wit my amazing daughter and her amazing pug! WOW! Best Day Ever!

Mr. Nibs

When the stars align it’s such a beautiful thing! And when dear friends make it all happen that makes it the most precious star of them all. Mr. Nibbles – Alexis’ new Chihuahua for Juniors – has arrived yesterday and we couldn’t be more thrilled.

He has already ended with her, being her favorite person. I see another dynamic duo in our very near future! Thank you, thank you, thank you to all involved in making this happen. You know who you are and just how much I love you!

Belly Band Bandit

Georgie is become a man, started following our bellybanded Boomer all around the hotel room, lifting along with his buddy. We can’t have that now can we? So it was time for the little man to sport his own belly band. I happened to have a smaller one packed in our show gear bag. It is a tad bit big for him but once a maxi pad was inserted, it fit him better.

The new confinement took a bit of adjusting to but he was soon back to his happy go luck self. Acting like it wasn’t even thee, he went on with the rest of his evening, going so far as to beg along with KC to get into the bed with me while I was checking my emails and such. It didn’t take long for him figure out who to finagle his way out if the belly band. Like I wasn’t going to notice it laying the win the bed?
