Almost two weeks in and now suddenly, something kicked into gear with Suri and I now have an active participant when it comes to feeding Hope. Up until today, I would feed and then place Hope into the whelping box for Suri to tend to. She would stimulate and clean her up, to then cuddle up with her to keep them both warm.
Today she started stimulating Hope while she was eating, more similar to what happens when a puppy is actually nursing off their mother naturally. Suri was all about keeping her face and behind clean, so much so that you could see that Hope was getting a bit irritated with all of the “mothering”.
Perhaps all of that attention has kicked the weight thing into gear too? Another big weight gain today – Hope is up to 6 1/4 ounces!
