What An Amazing Day

A day we have been working for the last two months – walking the show ring with Sugar and Huggie! My head is still spinning with all of the amazing changes and progress with our program since the first of the year and today was just the first of what I hope to be a lifetime of ring walks. Granted, it was only a Fun Match with the Tampa Bay Chihuahua Club, but still, it was a ring walk! Sugar, Huggie, Jessa and I headed out this morning and wasn’t too sure how the day would play out. I have table training nailed but walking on a lead was not so pretty. I had Sugar walking on a leash with her harness and figured like with Ace, switching to a show lead would...

She’s So Pretty

In addition to adding two new girls to our program, we have also decided to keep Jessa here with us a bit longer to help her build more self confidence and hopefully get her into the show ring! Structurally, she is VERY nice. We just need to help her realize just how wonderful she is. We will be sure to share her progress as we prepare her for the ring.

Doing Great So Far

In just a matter of a couple of days, we have really seen Jesa come out of her shell. All she needed was to feel a bit more confidence. We have watched her go from running from your hands to not back away from you. Today she came to me after calling her name! I think it is the constant that has helped her. I really see great things in this sweetie’s future. I would love to be able to boost her enough to eventually be shown! With confidence, she could be the total...

They Did So Good!

With both Sugar and Huggie closing in on the one year mark, they both had some retained puppy teeth that we’re not working their way out on their own. Dog showing is somewhat of a beauty pageant. A retained puppy tooth could make or break a tight decision for a judge. Retained teeth can also hinder a youngster’s bite as they finish growing. Either way, pulling a couple teeth was an easy fix. This afternoon, Dr. Mario was able to remove the teeth, lickity split. Sugar had five pulled while Huggie only had one. Ace came along for a much needed nail clipping (he is getting rather persnickety the older he gets) and the Fluff Ball graduated in his socialization...

So Honored

It started out as a day out at my mentors Sandy and Vicky’s but ended with two additional male Chihuahuas in the car and a lot of excitement. The plan for the day was so website work, dog photo sessions and an afternoon filled with girl’s talk. And talk about dogs too of course. Perhaps we all need to have girly dates more often – The trip turned into a full day event that was so much fun! Thank you so much Sandy and Vicky for such a fun and memorable day! Vicky had asked if I would be interested in training and showing one of her males along side Sugar. Her smooth coat boy named Huggie is destined for the ring and is handsome as ever. She also...
