Tell Me…

…that little Annie is not the cutest Chihuahua puppy you have ever seen! I dare you! She is doing great at weaning, napping and eating with our older pups and of course, enjoying playsession with them as well as our other dogs. Sugar has claimed her as her own and ironically, Suri who has conveniently entered her heat today, has done everything she can to dominate her. She is gentle about it but man, like Annie is any real competition, right? Annie’s biggest activity has been playing with toys. Stuffed toys are being wrestled with, chew toys are being chewed on and when they aren’t in reach, a finger will...

Five Week Romp

The puppies are five weeks old today and boy oh boy do they love life downstairs in the living room! Their play-sessions have increased this week, as they love to be out and about, exploring. We are also getting a much clearer picture of their individual personalities too. Hemingway is the laid back one of the bunch. Sweet and quiet, he will make the perfect lap buddy! Jillionaire is social, playful and happy, making a wonderful family pet. Then of course there is Ixtapa and she has shown herself to be quite the feisty little one. Sticking up for herself during her wrestling matches with her siblings and fending them off when it comes to nursing and eating. Temperament...

Like Clock Work

All of our litters do it! And it is usually done within the first week of their move into Puppy Kindergarten. They crawl out of the comfort of the crate the find mom, who is laying in the doggy bed, to nurse till their heart’s content. It’s that moment that they discover the luxurious bed and choose it over the padded dog crate. I can’t blame them! They are surrounded in fluffy pillows of napping...

Transitioned Well

Today was the day for Colada’s puppies to come downstairs and transition into our Puppy Kindergarten. The move can be a bit stressful for the puppies and with Ixtapa being as small as she is, I was most concerned about her. She was actually the first to explore her new surroundings and the first to mow down on the moist puppy food. No need to worry about her – She is doing great! And her siblings you ask? Oh yeah! They are loving the new setup! Room to roam and stretch those legs. They walked out to the potty pad all on their own – And used it!...

Rambunctious Kids

Ginny’s puppies are 12 weeks old today and Gater is 16 weeks (smack dab in the gawky, puppy uglies). Between Gator’s tweenage antics and the younger pup’s desire to runamuck, these six little ones make it very well known when they want out to play. It starts with some wrestling, which moves to chewing on the edge of the potty pad (and sometimes trying the crawl under it) and then a few barks to insure our attention has been caught. From that moment on, they watch our every move, like a cat with a red laser toy. The second they hear the squeak of the hinge on the pen, they perk up, jump over the bottom lip and off they go in every direction to play...
