With the break that we took for the Canine Flu, I was very excited once confirmed that our guys had kennel cough and healed up perfectly. I was even more excited to have our first shows back in the game being in our home town! Only 30 minutes form the house makes for a really easy weekend. I love this circuit! Even though it is a very small entry (More than have the entry size as last year) it is so nice to be back in the ring!

The dog show gods were also very good to me, granting us a 10:30 AM ring time! It has been FOREVER that we haven’t had an 8:000 AM ring time! We all got to sleep in. Clearly it paid off because Mr Tino was spot on in the ring. Me? Well, keeping him focused was on the difficult side. He looked great – I need to work more eon my confidence. When you have a good judge, showing in the bred-by class helps me I am sure, allowing judges to not judge ME and my awkward handling skills! Today was such a day…

Tino gaited around that ring like a total champ, earning him WInner’s Dog over some very nice competition. Going in for Breed, again, never once thinking we would beat Specials, was given the elusive win by one of the most amazing Toy Breed judges, Elaine Lessig! I was beyond honored by her selection. Having this puppy’s attributes recognized at such a young age has been so unbelievable. To have them recognized by such an amazing judge is heart stopping! Thank you SO, so much!

Sticking around all day was well worth the chance to enter both Group rings – Regular and Owner-Handler! I never walk in these rings with the whole “I got this” attitude because in my opinion, the odds of the tiniest dog in the ring being noticed is slim. That was until today! My little man and I got noticed for sure in the Owner-Handler ring. I have watched Alexis time and time again get selected in this ring with Boomer. Today it was our turn and we got a Group Two!!! YES!!! TWO!!!!! So unbelievable! I floated over to the regular ring and we did our thing but no love. It’s all good! A Group Two in OH and two more chances to work with Tino in the ring was absolutely awesome!
