View From The Back

Our new furniture and it’s arrangement has given us all a totally new vantage point to my husband’s nightly dinner time ritual. Normally when he sits on the couch, our only view is from the backside of the dogs. Now, we see what my husband sees – this time from HIS back. And from this side, he looks like an amazing conductor to a magnificent orchestra. They all follow his hand like a bunch of cats to a laser pointer. Then they wait patiently until he is almost done, saving the last few morsels for them. They know the drill – They will each get their own...

Ginny Is Back

I headed out to pick Ginny up from Sandy’s today and I am proud to announce, she was a fantastic girl during her stay. Her laid back temperament was definitely witnessed but so was her princess status! Around here, she has the tendency to show her spoiled ways when things aren’t to her liking. Specifically when it comes to the weather! When it happens to be raining or if the temps drops below 60, she dare not step out past the deck off the back of our house during potty breaks. The thought of stepping into mud, no matter what the temperature, is simply beneath her! With the scattered storms we have had during the last few days, this princess side was...

True Florida Dogs

We received this amazing holiday gift today from my mom and I honestly have never seen the dogs go this nuts over any package the UPS man delivers – Even when their doggy treats arrive! A dry ice encased box of lobster, shrimp and crab is what got all of their tails a waggin and I swear if they could have gotten to the contents they would have devoured it all, frozen or not. Not too sure if any of them have seafood allergies but in case you wondered, dogs can eat seafood, in moderation. In our case, of crew won’t be given the chance to try it, this is going to me our Christmas...

He’s So Spoiled!

While going through the drive-thru at the bank, the teller noticed my constant companion. She slipped a sucker for my daughter as well as a biscuit for Dewey into the drawer with my receipt. While driving home, I couldn’t help but watch Dewey react to the treat and giggle. At first he looked at it with bewilderment – It was bigger than his head! Then once we broke it into pieces, it was still too big for his mouth to chew on. Eventually, he curled up in a ball on my daughter’s lap and nuzzled the treat, taking in whiffs of it’s goodness, sneaking in a lick here and...

Not At The Kid’s Table Tonight!

We have been feeding the puppies their Eukanuba Small Breed Puppy Food in their pen for the last five weeks. Keeping the puppy food away from the adults is one of the reasons they are fed in there. (Puppy food is a huge treat that our dogs will do anything to get at). The other reason is because of their tiny size, I free feed them. Our adults are fed on a schedule. Using a puppy feeding dish, we keep it filled with food, designating it as the “kid’s table” since they all can gather around it and eat together. Tonight as we fed the adults, the puppies were out of the pen for one of their play sessions and they happened to hear the kibble hitting the...
