Be sure to check out your local Target’s clearance end caps! They had these adorable food platter themed dog toy sets back in December that are now on clearance. When one dog toy alone can run in the $6.00 to $8.00 range, finding five in one package for a price of $4.99 is the true...
Read MoreEvery Christmas, Santa brings our Chihuahuas a whole slew of new toys. He wraps them ever so carefully, so that they can easily open them. Again, since the tree is in the room they don’t have access to, this year Santa placed their gifts in their dog bed turned toy box. Our older dogs, seemed less than interested in doing the work this year. They looked at the wrapped toys, sniffed and the walked away. It was the puppies that had a complete blast! They ripped into the paper like it was doused in bacon fat. Some of the toys were twice as long as the pups but that didn’t stop them in the least! They drug them around the room and played chase to rip into the...
Read MoreI have been meaning to update my original product review post on the Puppy Toy find at Target. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought a toy could bring such drama. And before to read, I must warn you – I will be describing POOP! Back with Capri’s litter – Who were the first to play with the toys – I happened to notice a never ending poop coming from one of the pups. When I say never ending, it usually means one of the longer hairs from my or my daughter’s head has made its way into a dog’s mouth and out the pooper. But this particular poop had a lot more oomph than a single strand of hair poop and it required a pull with...
Read MoreWhile on our breeding adventure yesterday, Cathy from Arf! Chihuahuas came along too. She had a very special package of treats and toys for our crew and I swear, the moment they saw them after I got home, you could see their ears ad eyes sparkle with delight. The treats brought them to an instant “sit” and are now the coveted rewards that I will not give out on a whim. And the toys? I dare not divvy the all up at once, I pulled out a couple of the braided ropes and within seconds, the games began. These toys can keep our crew entertained for hours. Eventually, we tied one around dude’s neck like a necklace for our own entertainment. Watching him try...
Read MoreSo, during today’s play session, the puppies wandered out into screened patio and took on the Oak tree leaves that had blown in. I swear, fallen leaves are more inciting than dog toys – And yes! A lot cheaper too! While the pups were scavenging for leaves, I heard a clankering ruckus coming from the room and in ran Diva. She had found one of the plastic starter pots we use for our tomato plants and carried it into the kitchen. Her entire head was covered by the pot but she still maneuvered her way up a step, around two chairs and a table and plopped right onto one of our dog beds to stake her claim on her new prize. She was sooooo proud of herself and...
