Every Christmas, Santa brings our Chihuahuas a whole slew of new toys. He wraps them ever so carefully, so that they can easily open them. Again, since the tree is in the room they don’t have access to, this year Santa placed their gifts in their dog bed turned toy box. While on our breeding adventure yesterday, Cathy from Arf! Chihuahuas came along too. She had a very special package of treats and toys for our crew and I swear, the moment they saw them after I got home, you could see their ears ad eyes sparkle with delight. The treats brought them to an instant “sit” and are now the coveted rewards that I will not give out on a whim. And the toys? So, during today’s play session, the puppies wandered out into screened patio and took on the Oak tree leaves that had blown in. I swear, fallen leaves are more inciting than dog toys – And yes! A lot cheaper too! While the pups were scavenging for leaves, I heard a clankering ruckus coming from the room and in ran Diva. She had found one of the plastic starter pots we use for our tomato plants and carried it into the kitchen.
