It’s Official
We have made a decision and I cannot tell you just how amazingly thrilled and honored I feel right now. Vicky was so kind to allow us to bring Eve and Suri home with us for a test run and they both fit in perfectly. With that being said, we also fell hard and we adore them both. I thought I would share the girl’s progress so far. They both have totally acclimated to our other dogs here and seem to enjoy the Figgy lifestyle. Our scheduled feedings, outside potty routines and lounging on the new furniture. They even went with the flow during our Wii putt putt golf competition. (that’s a lot of feet and movement to content to!) The one thing they both haven’t quite gotten down pat is the doggy steps up onto the couch. The steps are most often the skill we have to teach all visiting dogs. Eve picked it up after 24 hours – Both up and down. But poor Suri? Only down. Up is something she just isn’t getting. Both Quik and Maui are long coat Chihuahuas. Apparently, they inherited their mom’s slow coat growth gene because I am not seeing the lush length I like. It’s coming in – They have the fringe on their ears on on their back ends. Quik’s coat is actually a bit longer than his sister’s. Getting the two new boys acclimated was the goal for today (and self medicating to keep this migraine at bay). Scheduled feedings with 10 other dogs and their bowls within feet of them while they eat? Mastered in two minutes! With my husband being a pretty large guy, another test we do is to see how they react to him. Both Fluff Boy and Huggie came right to him with out missing a playful beat. With those lessons learned in the first few hours of the day, it was now time to master the dogs as a pack. This is who they will be playing, napping and living with.
