You have no idea how many times people LAUGH when I say they need to watch for hawks and owls when you own a Chihuahua. Yes! They will carry off your tiny dog if you are not careful! You have to remember, they are birds of prey and they eat rats, mice and rabbis so yes! A 4 pound chihuahua is a perfect meal!
Around here we have both hawks and owls so when the dogs are out running the backyard, we are out there with them at all times. If one is spotted, we herd them up and back into the house until they have flown off. Training your dog to come when called is the key to making this work so be sure to add that lesson to your to-do list!
