A Test Drive

I know my promise to stock the shelves with new harness designs has since come and passed, but I have been working on the prototypes. The girl’s new harness dress design has been tested on camping trips and now all I need to do is make some to add to the Chi Gear Store. Now way back when, I also started working on a dressier version for the boys too. A collared vest with a schnazzy look to match the girl’s ruffly skirted one. I made the prototype this week and while running errands today, slipped one on to Dewey to test it out. So far, so...

The Things Poor Dewey My Endure

I made a batch of my new harness dresses for our girls to wear for our test run on our next camping trip, using a fun zebra pattern with a hot pink bow. Cute aye? Well, when ever I make a batch for our dogs, I always make an xxxxx small to have on hand for any puppies we may have with us on our trips. Since Dewey is my xxxxx small model, often times, he has to try on my designs for me to check the fit.  Poor little guy! I am sure he must know he is sportin’ a frilly, girly  outfit! He must!!! He trying to get out of it, but lets just say, he wasn’t boastfully showing it off by any means! If all goes as planned, I will have this new design available for...

Patriotic and Political Pride!

My goal was to create a batch of harness vests for the 4th of July but to my delight, I found some novelty fabric that screamed to me! The Republican GOP Primary race is kicking into gear, meaning political battles will soon begin, filling our televisions with never ending slams and bams as well as heated debates and personal opinions. Now is the perfect time to snatch up a harness vest for share your patriotic and political pride. We have now have toy breed dog harness vests for the summer Patriotic Holidays, Democrats and Republicans!  And be sure to check out our dog showing off some of the harnesses we have...

Harness Dress Prototype

Between puppy poop cleanups, raging female heat blockades and oh yeah – Puppy Poop – I have been at my sewing table, trying to find the perfect solution for my creative dilemma. I made the most adorable doggy dresses that I call “Cocktail Dresses”. I had this retro cocktail party look in mind and that they do deliver! (Yes, I know – I have been a very bad girl and haven’t added them to the Chi Gear section yet! SORRY!) When ever I make a new design, I use our own dogs as the guinea pigs to test out durability, strength and use. The dresses are adorable as ever but simply do not have the strength to add a D-Ring to turn them into a...

The Single Seminole

While I made my pile of Florida Gator harnesses for all of our dogs, our oldest son had a bit of a tizzy over his favorite dog in the house, Baby, wearing blue and orange – A very devoted Florida State fan. As promised, I picked up a bit of the Seminole fabric and made Baby her own harness. She will definitely stand out in our pack of Gator harnessed Chihuahuas! But little does he know that with the extra fabric I made a few belly bands for the boys to pee on. Tee Hee – I am SO bad aren’t...

Traditional Camping Shot

I know, I know, you have seen 3000 shots of the dogs laying on my lap while on a camping trip.  But I snapped this one to capture a very proud moment. We went camping with several other families this weekend, which meant “strangers” a plenty were sitting right outside the camper, or actually opening the door and coming inside. THIS is the photo I snapped after one of the kids walked into our camper. Not a peep or budge!...

Busy, BUSY Day!

Busy, BUSY Day!

Not only did I finish up my pile of Gator harnesses, but as a thank you for being such a life saver for me and my family, I decided to add a set of harnesses for Karen’s dog, in her favorite color to the to-do list. Her dogs have become part of our little family and a personal set of matching harnesses for the KZ Krew was a must to so our appreciation. Well, at least a small portion of it. The to-do list and the time allotted in my brain to get it all done was completely unrealistic. Basically, I was off by 4 hours or so. So late tonight I headed out to Karen’s with her purple harnesses as well as Blue, Capri and Chicatoo, who is now in heat as well! We...

March Madness Madness

We along with many other families we know are huge Gator fans and with March Madness in the air, I am in the process of making some custom Florida Gator harnesses for all the Chihuahuas in our extended family and our own! That’s quite the pile of blue and orange aye? When I made the first batch of Gator harnesses for my son’s football games, I got several requests of onesies and twosies for Gators and even a request for a Seminoles harness, but this is, by far, the largest pile to date. Because the fabric is licensed, I cannot sell any in my ChiChi Gear section. But if you have a request for a college or NFL team, shoot me a message and I can sew it if you...
